“The experience was the exact opposite of what I expected when selling a car to a dealer. I expected haggling over scratches and other minor things to squeeze some $ from the seller and it was nothing like that. Quick, easy, everything explained. Sold a 10 year old Rav4. CarMax offered more in an online offer than any dealer and they stood by their price.”

“Where do I begin. I took my niece to purchase her first car after college and the experience was good and streamlined for sure. Fast forward 6 months and I am looking for new car so I go there. I settled on a 2021 equinox but I noticed the car pulls to the left when going over 35 mph. The salesman said it was the lane assist 🙃. I seen the car was in 2 accidents and it easily could’ve been something else but I took his word. I returned a couple days later to finalize the deal especially since you have 7 days to return the vehicle. I took it for one last drive and it pulled even more and the lane assist sensors did not work. The alerts did not chime. I asked if they can fix it and I’ll sign the last of the documents and still take it. The salesman spoke to the mechanic and they said I’d have to purchase the car first and then schedule a time to come back which could’ve been weeks out since they were backed up. They could have easily said we didn’t find an issue after I purchased the car and I would’ve been stuck with a car that doesn’t keep straight. Glad I walked away from this deal. I went to hertz car sales and bought a better car (2025), less miles, cheaper by 2500. They even offer FREE 12 month power terrain warranty and the car was still under warranty at the dealership for another 3 years and not to mention a way better interest rate. The difference in rates is so big that CarMax is definitely doing some suspicious stuff behind the scenes. It also seemed like all of their cars have been in an accident at CarMax. Every car I checked out there had at least 1 accident reported on the car fax. If I am in a position to have to buy another car I will NOT go to CarMax.”

“I was really excited to try to trade our car in for a van. When we got inside a guy was going to help us. He brought us outside and dissappeared. A very nice young lady came out to help us. She was very awesome!
We checked out a few vans. Went inside to check financing. They wanted to give us 2500 for trade in for our 2014 subrau crosstrek. Then what ever we owed that would be added to the van. It was crazy expensive! The van is for a handicap guy. That was crazy. Its not the workers fault its the corporations these days they rob you. Be aware. I would be better off keeping my car and just buying a van. This company wont give fair price for your trade in vehicle.”

“My recent experience with CarMax was outstanding from start to finish. The entire process was easy to navigate, required minimal time, and was completely free of interruptions or unnecessary complications. Everything was straightforward, efficient, and well organized.
I received a fair and competitive price for my vehicle, which made the decision even easier. As an added bonus, CarMax also provided a Lyft to my next destination, which was a thoughtful and much-appreciated touch.
I would absolutely recommend CarMax to anyone looking for a simple, transparent, and customer-focused car-selling experience.”

“Fred assisted us with my friends car purchase today. When we first arrived, he seemed a bit serious and reserved, but once we got to talking he warmed up quickly and even had us laughing by the end. (Keep in mind, I am hilarious myself hahahaha) We drove off the lot with a Honda CR-V, and the whole process was simple and stress-free. (This was also a cash purchase so no financing steps were done, not sure how to rate that side) They also have a GREAT selection of used vehicles to choose from.
One tip: if you’re coming during the colder season, definitely bring a jacket—the cars are outdoors.
Overall, a smooth and positive experience. Thank you, Fred!”
