“All I can say is wow… just wow. I had been working with this dealership on getting approved for a 2017 Ram 1500. From the start, the experience was great—good communication, helpful, and professional. Today they let me know that based on my credit score and down payment, they couldn’t get me to the monthly payment I wanted. That was completely understandable, and I had no issue with that at all. However, the conversation quickly took a turn. Instead of simply explaining their limitations, I was told in a roundabout way that I likely wouldn’t get approved elsewhere or find a better deal. I then explained that I had actually already been approved by two other dealerships with better terms (including through Ally Financial), but couldn’t move forward because I was stuck at work when they wanted me to come in, and the trucks sold before I could get there. One of those dealerships was IMD Motors Inc. in Dallas, for anyone in Texas looking—they were great to work with. South West was only the third dealership I had spoken to. After I mentioned that, the tone completely changed. It felt like I was being talked down to about my credit, even though I was respectful and not arguing anything. I finally said, “Sir, it seems like you’re getting upset with me and I’m not sure why,” and he hung up on me. Up until that point, I had every intention of working with them or keeping them in mind. That phone call showed a completely different side. To be clear, I am not speaking on their vehicles conditions or anything like that—only my experience. Buyer beware: if this is how the attitude changes when a deal doesn’t go through, I would question how things are handled after the sale. They will probably respond to this review with the disgruntled customer angle but that is literally how this just went down. Very disappointing experience.”
