“On June 4th, 2026, I got so fed up with my car and decided it was time to get something new. I was on my way to Nissan but then decided to stop in and see what Hertrich had on their lot, I did not expect to end up buying a vehicle there but I am so glad I stopped in. The entire experience from start to finish was outstanding.
From the moment I walked through the door, everyone was friendly, helpful, and professional. The entire team made the car-buying process smooth, stress-free, and enjoyable. I feel like I made new friends, this is how friendly, helpful and personable they were. Especially Nick and Walt. As soon as I walked in Nick greeted me and promised he was going to do everything to assist me with my purchase. I told Nick I did not know if I wanted to buy but I wanted to see what they had available. He called Walt and asked him to assist me with showing me what they had on the lot. I ended up finding a cute Hyundai Santa Fe that I loved and ended up financing it. They took my trade and gave me more than what I expected for it. Everything went so smooth and before I knew it I was driving off in my new Hyundai Santa Fe.
I really want to say a very special thank you to Nick and Walt for making my experience so easy and comfortable. They took the time to listen to what I was looking for, answered all of my questions, and worked together to make sure I got the vehicle I wanted at a price that fit my budget.
I drove home in my beautiful 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe, and the price I received it for was absolutely unbeatable. Nick and Walt went above and beyond to ensure I was satisfied and felt confident in my purchase.
I highly recommend Hertrich Hyundai to anyone looking for a vehicle this dealership truly cares about its customers. I will definitely return for future purchases and will gladly refer my friends and family to do business with Hertrich Hyundai. Thank you again for such a great experience! I love my new SUV.”

“IWARNING – Do NOT purchase from Hertrich Hyundai of New Castle
This has been one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a dealership.
I purchased a brand new 2024 vehicle (under 1,000 miles, straight from the showroom), and within the first month it needed a full steering column replacement. Within two months, the sunroof began leaking. When I brought it in for repairs, the dealership outsourced the work—and returned my vehicle with additional damage, including exterior scratches, a ripped interior liner, and a still-broken sunroof.
After returning the car immediately, they attempted another repair and then claimed a rodent nest was found, with damage to the airbag system—damage that was not present during the first repair, meaning it occurred while the vehicle was in their possession. The car has now been at the dealership for over 60 days.
Instead of taking responsibility, they tried to push me to file a claim through my personal insurance for damage that clearly happened while the car was under their care. That is completely unacceptable.
The situation became even more frustrating when the manager, Chris Anderson, demanded we pick up the vehicle immediately—even though it was unsafe, with a rodent nest still inside and a chewed-up airbag system. Our insurance company attempted multiple times to contact him and received no response.
We showed up before the deadline he gave us, only to be told the paperwork wasn’t ready and to come back the next day—completely wasting our time. As we were leaving, he came outside, crossed his arms, and laughed at us. It was incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful behavior.
To make matters worse, the dealership even tried to argue that this was “not a new vehicle,” despite selling it as one. The vehicle has since been acknowledged as a lemon, which says everything about the situation.
The lack of accountability, poor workmanship, and rude, dismissive behavior from management is unacceptable.
I highly recommend staying far away from this dealership. I will never purchase another Hyundai and will never return to Hertrich again.”

“I recently had to decide what to do at the end of my lease for my 2023 Hyundai Elantra whether to lease again, buy it out, or return it and go elsewhere. I wasn’t ready to make a decision that day I mainly just wanted answers so I could understand my options.
I called ahead and Walt helped me schedule an appointment which I highly recommend doing. When I went into the dealership he took the time to explain everything thoroughly and honestly. From the start he was very patient and never pushy. I told him exactly what I wanted my monthly payment to stay under and he was very respectful of that.
He walked me through all of my options clearly and helped me understand what would make the most sense for me personally. He even brought out a 2026 Elantra SEL Sport for me to test drive and asked what color I preferred, which made the experience feel very tailored to me.
Going into it I assumed a newer sport trim with black rims would be out of my price range. But after the test drive when we sat down to go over numbers he came back with a 36 month lease payment that actually shocked me..it was lower than what I was currently paying on my 2023 lease by about $115.
At that point it made the most sense for me to lease again instead of buying out my vehicle so I ended up going with another 36 month lease on the 2026 Elantra SEL Sport.
What stood out most was that Walt never felt pushy. He was honest, transparent, and really focused on what worked for me, not just making a sale.
Overall it was a 10/10 experience. Everything was explained clearly, I never felt rushed, and I left feeling confident in my decision. In today’s economy, I honestly felt like I got an incredible deal.
Walt never asked me to leave this review, but I genuinely had such a great experience that I wanted to share it. Joe also helped during the process and was very friendly and helpful as well.
I would absolutely recommend asking for Walt and scheduling an appointment. I would 100% go back to him again in the future”

“I am currently on my fourth visit for a persistent battery issue on a vehicle that is less than a year old. While the individual service advisors have been professional, the actual repair process and Hyundai’s lack of a technical solution have been incredibly frustrating.
The "Four-Visit" Saga:
* Visit 1: I was told I could wait for the car, but upon arrival, I was informed I couldn't because they needed a full day for diagnostics. This should have been clarified during scheduling.
* Visit 2: The service department claimed the battery was fine and suggested my key fobs were too close to the car. Even after moving the keys and using RFID blockers, the battery died again.
* Visit 3: I was promised a loaner/shuttle but sat in the lobby for 90 minutes because the request was never actually called in. They replaced the battery, but the issue remained.
* Visit 4: I had to return yet again because the previous visit resulted in the wrong battery type being documented for my specific model’s features.
The Root Problem:
The service department eventually admitted there is a known "Gray Area" with these models where car modules (like the climate fan) fail to enter "sleep mode" or wake up randomly. I have personally witnessed the car's fans running at 2:00 AM while the vehicle was locked and the keys were nowhere nearby.
It is unacceptable to have a brand-new car that is this unreliable simply because the manufacturer hasn't provided a definitive software fix for these "ghost" power draws. If you are having battery issues with a new Hyundai, be aware that it may be a module communication failure that the dealership is currently unable to fix.”

“I would NOT recommend this dealer to anyone! First thing was we had been approved everything was fine and then they came back & Changed the original agreement that we did the paperwork for! We were told that ALL of their vehicle are trade ins and they have been gone over thoroughly & None of them have machinal issues! Was also given a report of repairs that were done to the vehicle on history but no where on this paperwork does it state that my TRANSMISSION had been replaced months prior to purchase.
CONS-
1.) Third row seat headrest are broken and do not work, Which has been like that since the sale was not disclosed and i was not aware of.
2.) Had to have vehicle towed home 10 minutes after leaving the dealership because someone routed the lower radiator hose completely wrong so the water pump chewed straight through it and caused over heating.
3.) They had buffed the vehicle so you couldn't see the chips or paint imperfections.
4.) Had a prior broken windshield, And they didn't enclose that in writing either.
5.) I put 4500.00 down on this vehicle in good faith that i would have a reliable vehicle, But in fact i have had problem after problem.
6.) My rims were also so scuffed up and banged up.
7.) The front seats are also coming apart at the plastic and leather meets.
8.) My cup holder is broken and pushed down but you wouldnt be able to tell unless you went over it with a fine comb.
NONE of this was enclosed in writing
I even gave them full asking price for this vehicle because they truly seemed like honest people but in fact they are money hungry and dont give a crap!
You would think after spending a total of 54350.00 on a vehicle it would be a great car! PLEASE do not get scammed or treated like i did!
I'm not the only one that has been mislead by this dealer, You can read review after review.”
