The parts department sold me a faulty key and they have a no refund policy. Typically, a company has a 10 to 30-day refund policy, but all of the National City Volkswagen's parts sales are FINAL . I have no problem with that if the part I'm paying for functions properly. Last Tuesday, I took my 2011 VW Golf in, for their service department to program the new dealership key fob. After almost 3 hours, the technician was unable to program it. I went back today and they suggested next steps were to bring my car back and have them do a deeper diagnosis; aka take my car apart. Aside from the $253.39 I already spent for the key, it would cost me $450 just for them to find the issue causing they key's inability to link with my car. It will cost an additional $250 for programming it, plus whatever they say was wrong with my car. They could easily send the key fob back for inspection before suggesting I pay for this 'service'. I'm sure they have a better return policy with their suppliers. I had a third party analyze the dealership key and they determined the issue to be a faulty transmitter or chip The third party locksmith was able to program another one with no problem and only charged me $150. I'm never going back to National City Volkswagen for anything. There are plenty of reputable car parts and service shops in San Diego, that I would much rather do business with.

A fix-it ticket and dying car (270k miles) brought me here, and Volkswagen in National City saved my life! The hero? Rudy Garcia de la Cruz. He is warm, empathetic, insightful, and a charismatic gentleman who didn't just sell a car - he took the time to get to know me and match me with vehicles he knew I would love. He went out of his way to make sure I did not have to compromise caring for my family to make a sale, and that kind gesture spoke volumes to me as the head of my household. My new car revived my dreams of traveling out of state for vacation with my loved ones, and I have been showing it off nonstop since its arrival home with me. Rudy, if you read this, it was an absolute pleasure meeting you, and thank you for doing everything you can to take care of us like you would family. If I could give over 5 stars for your outstanding service, I would do it a hundred times over. Thank you!!

Kind and resourcefull staff... I bought a full size used chevy silverado from them, sales man Mike was great - the truck was nice, as in the online pictures and they were able to negotiate the price. Omar at the sales office, sold me a good warranty and others add-ons that I DONT regret buying before hand. Unfortunately, the truck had a transmission issue that we noticed driving off the lot, the warranty took care of EVERYTHING. We took it back and in less than 2 weeks the truck was back home. Alberto (I think the manager) kindly arranged a loaner while the vehicule was getting worked on. Now is about 6 months form the time of the purchase. We are happy with it. Thank you!

Honestly, such a good dealer experience every time I come to service my car! Everyone in the service department is so helpful and kind they really go above and beyond, which is so rare these days- especially from a dealer. I don’t even live in State anymore, but whenever I’m visiting my hometown, I come to these guys and they always help me out! This most recent time they helped me with my front license plate and even washed my car since I had just driven across the country. It was so appreciated, thank you guys!!!

WOW!!! UNBELIEVABLE...CHECK THIS OUT I can't believe these guys are MAGICAL!! Sales Rep Rudy went above and beyond. He was able to qualify me for this beautiful convertible BMW with NO CREDIT SCORE AT ALL. NONE then he also got me the car with NO MONEY DOWN. NONE!!!!! IT WAS INCREDIBLE IM STILL IN SHOCK! the Finance Manager Gaston made everything go so smooth he explained everything and I drove my Gorgeous BMW home that same day!
