“I had my car inspected at Jim White Honda in Maumee OH on the evening of Feb 26, 2026. I drove from Michigan and brought my civic to the dealership to meet with a potential private buyer for a car inspection which they paid for. I’m truly appalled by how my father and I were treated.
I’ve had my vehicle since 2019 and I’ve taken it for regular maintenance at two or three Honda dealerships local to my home. I have kept every record from these visits in a folder in my glove box. The service advisor did not treat us as guests and in his attempt to get the buyer to pay for repairs at the dealership, he heavily implied that I was being dishonest about the maintenance history of my vehicle.
The inspection was supposed to take an hour, but was closer to 30 or 40 minutes so it was not fully completed. From what I understand there was one repair that was identified as needed at my last service appointment. But instead of asking clarifying questions about my service history, the service advisor barely acknowledged me and tried to make me look like a scammer.
My car was equipped with winter tires. I also brought highway tires that I intended to give to the buyer. According to the service advisor, both sets of tires were bad and made “horrible” noise when they drove the car. But my car did not leave the service area for any test drive. They also only had 30 mins instead of the full hour, but somehow drove on both sets of tires? The second set of tires that I brought were still in my backseat in the exact same position that they were in when I handed over my keys.
Furthermore, the report the dealership provided also said there’s an oil leak but they couldn’t find it and admitted the levels were not low.
I’m very disappointed in how this visit went and how I was treated. Again, I was barely acknowledged. The service advisor at one point called my vehicle’s potential buyer their “guest” at which point I had remind him I was also a guest. Is it possible another dealership missed something? Absolutely. But to ignore me, to avoid eye contact like I wasn’t there, and suggest I was lying about my service history was outrageous and I suspect that suspicion was racial in nature. I expect more from a Honda dealership.”

“Visited Honda Jim White on Feb 21st to check on a Honda CRV EXL as recommended by their mechanic- Reynold. It was a very busy Saturday but we were greeted by their friendly staff and managers. Mood was very light. Everyone’s accommodating. Tony, their manager was making sure we’re attended. Ray - new car assistant manager is a superstar! He explained everything well, he knows what’s he’s selling and very honest. No sugar coating. he’s really not after the sales, he just makes sure you are buying the right car for your needs. You’ll get exactly what you need to know. Received our CRV on the same day, in a very good condition. Husband fell in love with it during test drive. You can never go wrong with Honda. Features are superb. It’s top of the line. I recommend Honda Jim White if you are looking to get a unit. I’d rate them 11/10!”
