“I purchased a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado from Monrovia Sierra Chevy, 721 E. Central Ave, Monrovia, CA 91016 on June 3, 2026, and the same day I gave them a 10/10 review because I had no idea they had just sold me a bad vehicle.
I drove the truck home about 70 miles home, and within less than three drives, the check engine light came on. After taking it to another Chevrolet dealer closer to me, I learned the truck had serious problems that should have been caught before it was ever sold. The issues included fault codes P0234, P14D9, P2B86, and P2C7A, along with problems involving the NOx sensor, auxiliary coolant pump / coolant heater pump, multiple exhaust leaks, emissions/DEF system issues, and turbocharger or turbo gasket-related leaks.
At this point, I strongly believe the check engine light had been cleared before the sale just long enough for me to drive it off the lot and make it home. Then, after I put some miles on it, the light came back on. I cannot prove that directly, but that is honestly how this feels based on how quickly everything happened after purchase.
What makes this even worse is that I also purchased an extended warranty, thinking I was protecting myself, only to be told these issues are being treated as pre-existing conditions and may not be covered. The warranty company is asking me for a smog certificate, prior diagnostic reports, and photos—documents that I do not have access to because the dealership never provided them to me. I have sent an email to Mark Castillo and still waiting for his reply and the sales rep, Christian ghosted me, now I am stuck in an impossible situation between the dealership and the warranty company, while still being left with a truck that should never have been sold to me in this condition.
This truck is not just a personal vehicle for me — I rely on it to tow my food trailer for work and earn a living. Because of this truck, I have lost peace of mind and have been put in a position where I may not be able to work or make money the way I need to. That is not a small inconvenience. It directly affects my livelihood.
This entire experience has been stressful, disappointing, and honestly heartbreaking. Buying a truck should not turn into this kind of nightmare almost immediately after purchase. I trusted this dealership, and instead I ended up with a vehicle that appears to have had serious pre-existing problems, a warranty company denying coverage, missing documents I cannot obtain, and a truck I cannot confidently rely on for my business.
I will update this review with the outcome and whether
Monrovia Sierra Chevy does the right thing by repairing the truck at no cost to me and standing behind the vehicle they sold.
I’m updating my review to reflect what’s happened since my last post.
My truck has been at the dealership since June 25. I finally picked it up on Friday, July 10, but by Sunday, July 12, the check engine light came back on.
Before picking it up, I specifically asked that all diagnostic trouble codes be repaired, not just one issue. Unfortunately, it appears only one repair was completed, and the check engine light returned almost immediately.
I haven’t heard back from Edwin, but I do want to thank Danny, my service advisor, for reaching out even while he was off. He said he would try to arrange a loaner, and I appreciate his communication.
I bought this truck to tow my food trailer for my small business, but nearly a month later, I’ve spent more time without it than with it. I’ve lost work while still making payments on a truck I can’t rely on.
I truly hope the dealership will fully diagnose and repair all of the remaining issues this time so I can finally get back to work. I look forward to updating this review once everything is resolved.”

“Service dept. My advisor was Abraham, he did an excellent job communicating and following thru on what he said. Had an issue with the convertible top. I have extended warranty and Abraham took care of everything with my insurance. I just had to pay my deductible which i expected. They returned my camaro back in 2 days and everything was smooth. Compare Sierra to puente hills Chevrolet,,puente hills was a nightmare lol. Thank you to Abraham and Tanya. I appreciate your service, any future issues with my camaro, I'll come see you again”

“I purchased a 2018 Chevrolet Cargo Van from this dealership. The salesperson and finance staff were courteous and professional; however, my experience with management was extremely disappointing.
I have always believed that poor customer experiences often stem from poor management, and unfortunately, this dealership reinforced that belief. While I received a reasonable price on the van, it had several issues that I identified before completing the purchase. I only requested that two of those issues be addressed: a flat rear tire and a dead battery.
At the time of sale, the salesperson assured me that these items would be taken care of. However, when I took delivery of the vehicle, neither issue had been resolved. I later returned to the dealership to have the matter addressed. After waiting approximately four and a half hours, the manager finally met with me and stated, “I understand the problems, but I will not do anything about them.”
My response is simple: I understand as well, and I will not be purchasing another vehicle from this dealership. I will also share my experience with my subscribers and encourage them to consider other options.
On two separate occasions, I spent several hours at the dealership, and during both visits, there were no customers purchasing vehicles. After my experience, I believe I understand why.”

“I had an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience with Sierra Chevrolet of Monrovia.
When we purchased our 2022 Chevy Bolt, they loaded the deal with unnecessary add-ons that increased the total price by about $15,000. One of those add-ons was a key fob warranty that supposedly covers replacements if anything goes wrong.
Fast forward to now — our key fobs stopped locking the vehicle. I called ahead and was told to come in for a complimentary replacement since we had the warranty. But once I arrived, I was suddenly asked to sign paperwork agreeing to pay $310 for diagnostics just to look at the keys.
That’s not what we were told on the phone, and it completely defeats the purpose of buying their warranty in the first place.
This felt deceptive and unethical. Selling warranties and then refusing to honor them without additional fees is unacceptable. We walked out and took our car elsewhere.
Do yourself a favor and avoid this dealership. They sell products they don’t stand behind, and their practices feel dishonest. I would not recommend doing business here.”
