“I have sold one car to CarMax. They made the process simple and seamless. I obtained a very reasonable offer for my 2025 Volvo and it was honored at all locations. When I brought my car in to sell it, an employee walked me through the process quickly and efficiently. They have hot tea and coffee while you wait. The waiting area is clean and comfortable.”

“Ian was the best car salesman I've ever interacted with or worked with. Sincerely appreciate his attention to details, knowledge on German motors and just being a great all around human being. I never felt pressured and appreciate you taking the time to get to know me and my situation. THANK YOU!”

“2nd time visiting the Clackamas/Milwaukie location. Daughter found her dream car. Ian helped us & was very polite, patient & pleasant to work with. The entire process from start to finish was less than 2-hours. No haggling, no back & forth negotiations, all questions & concerns answered & did not feel pressured like I have been from dealers in the past. I feel good about the service, the process, the quality of service & time spent going over details, etc. Highly recommend--absolutely no complaints. Ian was amazing & hopefully we will be working with him again in the near future for my other daughter's car!”

“I went to six different dealerships before coming to CarMax, and every single one wasted my time. No urgency, no respect for my schedule, and no real effort, which was especially disappointing when buying a Corvette.
From the moment I worked with Pablo at CarMax, the experience was completely different. He actually gave me the time of day, answered every question honestly, and made the entire process smooth and stress free. No games, no pressure, just straightforward and professional service.
Pablo and the CarMax team made this the easiest and most seamless car buying experience I have ever had. This is how dealerships should operate. I highly recommend asking for Pablo if you are serious about buying a car.”

“I give it a mid rating as CarMax does make the process of selling your vehicle fairly painless and it is a nice way to sell a car. However, this is the second time I have sold a vehicle to Carmax and I feel after two (maybe should have learned the first time, so that is on me) I should know that you are mostly putting a great deal of profit in their hands for that "ease". I recently sold a 2026 R1S Rivian with 950 miles and so new that it still smelled like right off of the lot - it had all of the plastic coverings on the screens, etc. The vehicle was just way too big for me and because I did not have a large note on the vehicle, I thought I could sell it, pay off the note and use the extra to purchase a smaller EV. The car I bought from Rivian was $78,000. The offer to me from CarMax was $64,000. I expected depreciation....but....that is crazy depreciation. I went in to speak to the manager a few days later. I said, "...I sold a vehicle in Las Vegas for $10,000 and saw it on the lot later for selling for $18,000, so I expected that I was not going to get the best deal..." She stopped me and said well that is not normal, we do not put that much additional price on a vehicle. I told her the reason I was questioning, is that I went on their site and the same vehicle but 2024s and 2025s with 9K to 15K are going from $69K to $78K and therefore I believe the 64K is a bit low. I told her the original salesman said he looked up comparables but I told her that there are no 2026s out there to compare and to please look again. She looked up the vehicles herself online to see what I was talking about and then went to the back room to speak with her team. She came out and said "...I learned a lot...." She said the Rivians are not selling and the prices are being dumped and this one will just end up going to auction, anyway. I begrudgingly took the deal - she said she could re-assess the next day when the deal expired, but chances are it would go down. I took the deal. Anyway, I went on the CarMax (Clackamas OR) site right now to look for a smaller EV to go purchase today or tomorrow (gullible me) and what do I see - my Rivian being sold on Clackamas site for $75,998 - so much for "dumping" or going to auction. Very shady.”
