“I went into the dealership to purchase a vehicle. I picked out a vehicle and checked it over for 30 minutes or more. When it came time to test drive the vehicle. The salesman refused me service because I had a paper issued driver's license from the DMV and didn't have the hard copy in hand. I had full coverage insurance, my own financing, valid drivers license, and my trade ready for appraisal. Salesman walked off saying it was nothing he could do while over talking me which became totally unacceptable. He wouldn't even allow me to ask for him to complete a test drive with me because of feeling like my paper issued ID was fraudulent without even attempting to verify anything. "Never Profile without verification'! I ended up going to Mercedes of Memphis having no problems and getting a better deal on a newer Mercedes vehicle that wasn't a lemon buyback. Total purchase process took less than 45 minutes at Mercedes of Memphis. I have never gotten this treatment after all the years of shopping with Smith Imports from them. I used to love the fact of shopping with them and not being under any pressure to shop and look. This experience brings total disappointment from the behavior of the salesman.”
