Not so good of an experience with the sales people. Second time I've been here looking at a vehicle and was turned off by the sales person. Too bad because I have bought most of my cars, truck's and dirt bikes from them in the past.

I took my car in the 23rd for an appointment. My car was shaking when I drove 20-40 mph. My boyfriend and stepdad, both mechanics, figured it was something with the tires. Pilson said my tires/rims were bent and that they needed to balance them. I need 2 new tires as well but I told them I have an outside source I buy from because I can get them for cheap. They also proceed to tell me I needed new brake rotors and pads, the thing is, I replaced all 4 rotors earlier this year (sometime after June) and my brake pads were perfectly fine, still thick and many months left on them (from my boyfriend and stepdad looking at them). So there’s the first thing they tried scamming me on. They call me and tell me my car is done around 4:16 and I let them know that I’ll be there around 5:30 ish. This part is my fault but I was late and showed up at 5:40, not knowing that they lock the doors at 5:30 (which is odd because google says they close at 6) so now I don’t get my car until the 26th, which I really needed it for Christmas. There were some people inside at 5:40 so we tried going in and doors are locked and they ignore us, I call them and nothing. Maybe change your hours to 5:30 if you’re going to lock all your doors then and ignore customers? I finally get my car. They balanced my tires (this can take 30-60 mins) and they charged me a whopping $230. That is honestly ridiculous. I pay them and get my car pulled to the front. My right side mirror is bent upwards with scratches on the back of it. (Might have been a mistake, that stuff happens. Wasn’t too upset about it). But then I go to drive my car and immediately notice something is wrong. Now I need an alignment because my car veers to the left while my steering wheel is straight (didn’t do that when I brought it in) and my steering wheel shakes when I drive. I pull into my driveway and look at my tires. If my tires are bent, WHY DID YOU ROTATE THEM? My bad ones are now in the front while my good ones are in the back. I don’t know why you would ever do this if my tires are bent. That makes me think they lied to me and they aren’t actually bent, because there is no logical reason why you would do that. I will not be coming back here unless it falls under my cars warranty. This is lengthy but I see someone asking for more details all the time so I figured I’d save them from having to ask that. Don’t bother coming here for anything with tires, go to Neal’s or an actual tire shop.

Bought a New/Used Vehicle. My salesman was great. Very helpful and got me right into the vehicle I wanted. Even gassed it up for me.

The good: Salesman very friendly and communicative, very good response time to questions. Truck was priced fairly. No charge to transfer truck from Clinton, IN to Mattoon. Deal went thru quickly and smoothly. The bad: After making an appointment to test drive the truck, I had to wait 15-30 minutes because did not arrive from the other dealership on time. I was promised a full tank of gas with purchase but only received 1/2 tank. I was told "the pump shut off at $50 and wouldn't give me any more." I really should have sent them back to do it again. The truck did not have a front license plate mount, which I'm pretty sure is illegal to sell in Illinois. When I asked about it after I got home with it, I was told they would not supply it and I would have to source one myself. "No cop outside of Chicago cares about the front plate anyway." Funny, because my girlfriend got pulled over for no front plate the next week. Overall, I love the truck, but I'm not sure I will go back to Pilson when it's time to upgrade again.

I paid $600 to have my misfire on cylinder 5 diagnosed. Pilson told me it was the cam shaft that it had flat spots all across it. Long story short the shop that fixed it changed the lifters and told me the camshaft was not damaged. They didn’t take the time to diagnose accurately after charging me $600. I feel they should return my $ for the diagnostics that they obviously didn’t do. On top of that they were going to only change 1 broken lifter instead of doing a good job and changing all of them while it was apart.
