“Just when I thought I had lost all hope on trading my car and getting back into a jeep of my dreams, I reached out to this dealership and was put in touch with Mike and he really took everything I said into consideration and made it into a lovely experience and was very easy to communicate with! I had wrestled with other dealerships for 4-5 days with no solution and he had me fixed up in 24hrs and riding off in a 2021 grand jeep cherokee laredo e 4x4 and I LOVE it!
I would 10/10 recommend them for future purchases for anyone I know or even come back again for myself!”

“Title: Horrible Experience with Abernethy Chrysler Jeep Dodge – Lied, Stolen Money, and Refusing Service
I purchased my 2018 Jeep Compass on May 3, 2023, from Volkswagen in Gastonia, NC, and have had engine and oil consumption issues ever since. In December 2024, my vehicle was towed to Abernethy Chrysler Jeep Dodge in Lincolnton, NC, because I suspected the oil and coolant had mixed, contaminating the engine, hoses, fittings, radiator, and heater core. What followed was months of poor communication, unprofessionalism, and outright dishonesty.
Lack of Communication and Unprofessional Behavior
After my Jeep was towed to Abernethy on December 27, 2024, I was told they were backed up but would eventually tear down the car to find the cause. My extended warranty adjuster inspected the vehicle on January 22, 2025, taking photos and making a report. However, Abernethy never communicated the actual cause of failure to the warranty company. For three months, I was given excuse after excuse while my car sat at the dealership.
When I finally got my vehicle back, I was informed Chrysler had provided a new engine, but I was responsible for the labor, hoses, and fittings. I was also told I needed a new radiator and heater core but to save money, they “tried flushing the system.” They claimed to have flushed the system 12 times, yet oil was still collecting in the coolant reservoir. Instead of fixing the issue, they sent me home with a gallon of coolant and told me to suck the oil out myself.
Alcohol and Unprofessional Conduct
During this ordeal, I witnessed disturbing unprofessional behavior. I found an empty pizza box and alcohol at the service writer’s desk. When I raised concerns, the service manager admitted this was a recurring issue, which raises serious concerns about the professionalism and safety of their operations.
Lies and Clearing Engine Codes
I recently discovered that Abernethy cleared engine codes on my vehicle, knowing that it had a faulty engine involved in a class action lawsuit. They ignored the root cause and returned the vehicle to me with unresolved issues.
Retaliation and Refusal of Service
When I raised concerns and mentioned media involvement, Abernethy’s response was to refuse further service on my vehicle. They had nothing to say once I stood up for myself, choosing to be silence rather than take accountability.
Taking Advantage of Women and Consumers
As a woman, I firmly believe Abernethy took advantage of me, assuming I wouldn’t ask questions or challenge their actions. But I won’t stay silent. I know I’m not the only one who has been treated this way by large corporations and dealerships that prey on consumers, especially women, by withholding information, misleading customers, and draining money without fixing real problems.
