“I came to Napleton Honda of Lansing, IL today, and this experience was unbelievably disappointing and upsetting.
I brought my car in for a scheduled oil change in roughly 30-degree weather. When I take my car to a dealership, I reasonably expect the exterior to be cleaned as part of the service. When I picked my car up, it was still dirty. By that time, the service staff had already left.
I went into the manager’s office to ask why my car had not been cleaned. There were about eight men in the office, and instead of getting a professional response, I was looked at like I was crazy. One man—who identified himself as the assistant managers aid to me, “What do you mean? Didn’t you bring it in dirty?”
The tone and attitude completely threw me off. I began to stutter because I was shocked by how rude and dismissive he was. As I tried to explain that I had never been treated this way at a dealership before, other men in the office began making snarky comments toward me. At that point, I felt uncomfortable and disrespected, so I left to go to my car.
I then circled back because I wanted corporate’s phone number. By that time, most of the men had left the office. I spoke with Sales Manager Sam Zayyad and another manager (a white man with red hair whose name I did not catch). The moment I mentioned corporate, their attitudes suddenly changed. They offered me free car washes and immediately shifted blame onto the assistant manager.
While I appreciated the offer, I still calmly asked for corporate’s number. Once I insisted on that, the tone changed again. Sam, in particular, became hostile and tried to talk me out of calling corporate. He accused me of being rude, which is completely untrue. I never cursed or raised my voice I simply expressed frustration over being treated poorly as a paying customer and spoken with conviction.
I even explained that I could easily take my business elsewhere, including Orland Park, where I actually purchased the vehicle. I was also seriously considering upgrading my 2025 Honda CR-V to a 2026 Honda Pilot, but after this experience, that will absolutely not be happening at this dealership.
This entire situation showed a lack of professionalism, accountability, and basic customer respect. I should not require threatening to call corporate. I would strongly caution anyone especially women before choosing to do business here ( I could be wrong be I am black women who came it with clothes for running errands, I feel like that had something to do with the way the treated me also, if not they were stil disgustingly rude!!!!!!!If this review was not already extremely long, I would be even more descriptive as to why I feel this way”

“I bought a new vehicle yesterday. The salesmen Omar, Earnest and finance manager were awesome. I was very indecisive and they listened to my concerns and assisted me with any answers I needed. They were more concerned with making me happy about my purchase than just trying to get me to purchase a vehicle. This is my 6th vehicle from Honda and I have not been disappointed yet. Thank you Earnest and Omar for your great customer service and taking care of me. I appreciate the effort and they truly made me feel like part of the family.”
