Researched a Crosstrek advertised online and provided my contact info. A (my) salesman, Gary called the next day and left a message. I didn’t have time to return the call. The car is incredible and just what I was looking for. That has happened before. The buying experience however has always been a very long nightmare that has ended with all the excitement of the experience being draining and stressful. “I bought a 2018 Hyundai eLANTRA at the beginning of 2024. After about a year the engine threw a rod. I got it towed to Wallace since I had a warranty and they supposedly replaced the engine. Approximately 4 months later the engine starts knocking again! I saw sold a $13k car that the engine constantly needs replacing apparently. I’ve contacted Hyundai the manufacturer who said that make and model has a known engine problem but since my vin isn’t attached to that recall they will not fix it. It blows my mind a dealership would sell a car to someone that has KNOWN issues without informing the customer of those issues. Now I’m paying $200+ a month for a car that I can’t use till I get yet again another engine. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM WALLACE USED CAR DEALERSHIP IN JOHNSON CITY!!!”
