“May of last year I inquired about a truck I liked. After some talk about numbers and what other dealerships were offering, they basically told me to buy somewhere else if I can find it cheaper. So, I did. At Nissan of OP. Davis had 24 to choose from, OP had only 7, and still was able to come to an agreement. Recently, time to shop for the wife’s car. I reluctantly went to Davis, only because they had the trim and color she liked. A new leftover model from last year. We arrived and the person she spoke to seemed inconvenienced that it only took up 20 minutes to drive there. After waiting a while for the car to be prepped, we went for a quick test drive. We went back to talk numbers. And we were basically told to go find a better deal elsewhere…..again. No negotiation or attempt to compromise, just a “take it or leave it” approach. Finally my wife understood why I didn’t want to go there to begin with. Some food for thought, Davis: A large inventory of cars is not necessarily a good thing. You should be selling cars, not collecting them. We were the only customers in there at that time. I see why. You have unsold 2025’s on the lot, and 2027’s will be here before you know it. Those are the cars that you need to be more flexible with. There are 14 Nissan dealerships within 100 miles of me. To act like you’re the only one is comical. If you think people won’t drive a couple hours to save a couple thousands of dollars, I assure you, we will. I only had to drive an extra 15 minutes last May to save money.”
