“Bought a Honda with 70,000 miles from Z Imports after being told they “service all their vehicles” on site. The car looked and sounded great, and I was told it appeared to be well taken care of. A day after driving it off the lot, the check engine light came on. At first, I hoped it was something minor. A few weeks and two mechanic opinions later, I’m now looking at a roughly $4,000 engine repair involving the VTC actuator, timing chain and camshaft/cam lobe issues. One service tech told me the car likely had not been properly maintained, which makes the dealership’s “well taken care of” comment feel pretty hard to believe. Even basic things, like the air filters, made it seem like their “service” was little more than an oil change and a wash. If they missed something that obvious, it makes me question how thoroughly the vehicle was inspected before sale. The lobby was another red flag. Paperwork was stacked everywhere, and what appeared to be copies of customers’ driver’s licenses were visible in plain view. For a dealership handling sensitive personal information, it looked careless and raised serious concerns about how they protect customer privacy. If that is how they treat paperwork, it makes me question how they treat everything else. Let my experience be a warning: avoid this place, or at the very least, do not buy anything from them without taking it to an independent mechanic first.”

“Z-Imports had the car I was looking for with low mileage and in excellent condition. Imran was very helpful in getting the car looked at before hand. I even had a pre-purchase inspection performed before hand no issues, all good. I am very happy with my purchase and experience. If you are looking for a car this is a great location, although be mindful of the parking space, there is not a lot of room here with all the cars kinda packed in together.”

“Please read before buying a car from here. Owners are not trustworthy with the vehicles they sell. Sure you can maybe choose one without issues but I can almost bet that more than half of their cars will have issues. I bought a 2015 Audi A3 with 100k miles from here. Guy said fresh oil change but a month later check oil light was on. Turns out it was burning oil and would cost thousands to repair due to pistons. Cars timing chain ended going out eventually. I bought the car in 2022 and stopped working not even 2 years later. I waisted $14,500 on a car that didn’t even last 2 years. I’m also local to Indy and have heard lots of negative reviews as well from friends and people I have talked to about this place. Avoid all their locations at all cost.”

“Thought I should bring this up. About 8 years ago, I was in a tough spot and had no credit to speak of. I needed a car, and had never owned one before. I went here with a $1000 down payment, and they gave me something that was perfect for the time. They didn't try to push me into anything. They presented a 2008 Mazda 3. I test drove it, loved it, and ended up taking it home on a loan. It truly was a good experience. I'm yet again in a tough situation and might go here again. I understand that not all used cars are good, but I found a great car, and hope to find another one.”

“Some good cars on lot but untrustworthy sales staff and unethical on-site mechanic. Bring a qualified auto tech to inspect the vehicle. Do not let the vehicle out of your sight between the time you inspect/test drive it and the time you drive it off the lot. They WILL SWAP TIRES, REMOVE EMERGENCY JACK , PUT A DAMAGED SPARE TIRE, anything they can get away with if you are not watching. Looked at 2 cars on Saturday, both had new tires. Talked to salesman on Monday, he dropped price by $400 on one of them. Called Wednesday to let him know I would be out to buy the car that evening. He told me to let him know an hour before I was going to arrive at his shop. I show up close to closing time, car is just being pulled up to the front. Quick test drive, and I buy the car (because I had already done a visual inspection that Saturday) Next day I realize there are old, mismatched worn tires on it. THEY PAID THEIR ON SITE MECHANIC TO PUT OLD TIRES BACK ON THE CAR. Figure a shady dealer mechanic gets paid $20/HR. Half hour to remove, mount and balance 4 tires, so about $10. So the dealer saved himself a brand new set of tires (around $300) to help sell the new cars coming in from the auction and it only cost him $10. Yes, I have pictures of the wheels with the fresh marks of a recent tire removal and replacement. They removed the factory emergency jack. They swapped a good spare tire with one that won't hold air due to a damaged rim. The lug nut wrench was now missing and just a socket was in its place. The air filter that was brand new on Saturday, was replaced with an old, used dirty one before I picked the car up that Wednesday. There's a half dozen of the same make, model and similar year on the lot, all the parts are interchangeable. I found the transmission oil level over a quart low (you must jack this vehicle up and remove a plug with a wrench to check the level). I found the oil pan is destroyed because the drain bolt hole has been stripped and z-imports put a temporary plug in, but did not disclose the damage. Some of this may be "buyer beware", but swapping parts after a deal has been struck is pure scumbaggery. I called and asked why they would put old tires on a car without disclosing it before the sale. He raised his voice at me, then hang up. Other than the issues listed above, which I have already corrected, the car is running and driving good so far. Long story short, don't trust this dealer.”
