“TL;DR: DO NOT DARKEN THE DOOR OF THIS DEALER. I purchased a used 2016 Mazda3 i Sport from Russell & Smith Mazda less than two weeks ago. The sales team seemed friendly and reasonable, until the problems began. First, they used the wrong screws to mount my rear license plate. It fell off while driving. Thankfully, I saw it happen, or I’d be ordering a replacement plate. I bought proper screws and fixed it myself. Annoying, but forgivable. Six days into ownership, my dashboard lit up with a warning that the battery wasn’t charging. I pulled over to find the serpentine belt missing. The bolt holding the belt tensioner to the engine block had sheared off from vibration, leaving the car completely disabled. The dealership refused to cover the repair, suggesting I “use insurance or fix it myself” because it would be expensive. I paid a local shop out of pocket to extract the bolt and repair it. Soon after, the infotainment system completely failed, no audio, no backup camera. I called the dealer again, expecting help. Instead, they told me I’d be charged a diagnostic fee unless sales waived it. When transferred to sales, I was put on hold and then hung up on. Their website promises: “Each Mazda Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle has been meticulously tested in our 160-point inspection… so you can focus on the joy of driving.” That claim is a silver-tongued lie. My “Certified” Mazda left me stranded less than a week after purchase, and their staff left me to deal with it alone. This dealership will smile at you until the ink is dry, then disappear when the car fails. Save yourself the stress, the money, and the heartbreak... go anywhere else!”
