“I’m sorry this dealership in particular will get this review as they have done nothing to me. However Ray Skillman in new Whiteland screwed me royally. What I put on yelp is listed below. I would out this on their site but they have turned off their reviews and after reading their yelp reviews I see why. Maybe this Ray Skillman dealership had better ethics. Idk but they are all owned by 1 man and now because of 1 bad decision on my part I’m filing bk, and possibly loosing my housing because of it too . See the rest of my review below..
In 2023 I was newly divorced. I was buying a car on my own for the first time ever at 44. I bought a 2021 Mazda and ended up with a 36000 loan $15000 was a warranty and gap insurance. My car payment has been $675 . I have now missed payments and plan to file Bk. Please know I take ownership in this mess for not doing my homework and for signing a deal I didn't understand. The only upside is I learned a valuable life lesson. However I hope that this is a caution tale not to my mistake of signing but how they treat people, run a business and screw people over especially when they aren't looking!! You can say I'm dumb and I understand but again please look at the poor ethics of this dealership - stay away from RAY SKILLMAN IN NEW WHITELAND, but preferably all of them as they are 1 corporation”

“This is a long post but worth the read if your considering buying a vehicle from Ray Skillman Ford
December of 2024 we bought a brand new 2025 Ford Explorer from Ray Skillman in Greenwood. We have bought several vehicles from Ray Skillman Ford because we have always got exceptional service. Unfortunately something has changed bad enough I think it needs to be shared.
Today, I came out to my Explorer that is still under factory warranty. My key fob would not work to unlock it, the key in the door would not work to unlock it, and the app would not work to unlock it. It's was completely inaccessible. I was standing out in the 28 degree weather with my three-year-old who got out of the ICU last week. He now has a feeding tube. His medical supplies and things I need to rescue him if he went downhill were in this locked car. So, putting it off until Monday wasn't an option. I understand now that having all of that in there wasn't a great idea, but I also never thought even the actual door key wouldn't open it.
So..I immediately call the tow truck to get them on the way. Then I called Ray Skillman. I figured if something is wrong with my less than a year old new car that makes it not drivable/inaccessible surely the dealer will help me out. I explained the situation and the importance of getting into the vehicle to get my son's medical supplies. The response from the service person was, "Well I'm not there. I can't help you. Try to call a locksmith. Earliest we can look at it is monday and we don't have any loaners." So, I called back and asked to talk to the general manager. I explained whole situation to Josh. I also explained that my 3-year-old has an appointment Monday morning with his surgeon that I have to be able to get to. He said they have a waiting list for a loaner vehicles a few weeks out and there's nothing they would do for me. I begged for a loaner, used vehicle, or anything so that I have a drivable vehicle. My son's condition could turn life threatening again very quickly so not having a vehicle isn't an option. I explained our loyalty to Ray Skillman through the years and asked if there's absolutely anything they can do to help me. At this point all the rental places have closed. Josh said that was the answer he got and there's nothing they can do for me.
I bought brand new because it should be reliable. The car is still under the bumper to bumper warranty with less than 25k miles. This is due to a manufacturer problem and since they already sold it, Ray Skillman doesn't care. There's 3 recalls currently on the vehicle. I offered to provide any proof they needed of my situation because I understand people probably make things up to get their way. I would understand if I had an absurd request or was asking something unreasonable. All I was asking for is a loaner. Given the circumstances there's not a single car on that lot that can let me drive through Monday when they can look at it? After you drive off that lot, they just genuinely don't care is the bottom line.
I understand that it's a car and things are going happen/go wrong. However, when that happens especially to a new vehicle due to a Ford problem, I would expect them to take care of their customers and have better service than what I experienced. I didn't buy a used car with a bunch of miles then get mad that it didn't work. I bought a brand new vehicle expecting that if something goes wrong they take ownership for it and take care of their customers.
I know I personally would like to know the kind of people I'm spending so much money with and making such an important decision. If they don't care to this extent I definitely don't trust them to be making such an important financial decision for our family in the future. I felt other people deserve to know the kind of people they're working with as well.”

“My service rep CURTIS was more arrogant than helpful. Just for starters...when I told him I had Endurance Warranty.....He told me don't expect them to pay....I told him I've used Endurance here previously.....He said, " if I have to wait on hold for more than 15 with Endurance, I'm hanging up" He sounds like he has his chest out when he talks and never optimistic ( I've only talked with him on the phone because I used the delivery service)......I don't EVER want him as my service advisor.....if he was the 1st service advisor I talked to....I would never go back to ray skillman......But my previous service advisor NICK....shout out to NICk !! Was awesome patient, friendly and very optimistic (still informative on things that would no be in my favor)......also a special shout out to the delivery staff To & from the the repair shop......if I go back I will be requesting anyone but Curtis !!”

“After 10yrs of faithful service my 2013 v6 mustang started having problems. Came in to Ray Skillman to trade it in and Joe Riley, Stephanie, and Sean were extremely helpful. Came home with a gently used V8 mustang and could not be happier. When asked how long I intend to keep this one I said 10yrs just like the last one. Stephanie was a godsend. I have been chatting with her for a couple wks. Joe was very nice and Sean was able to get me a 5.85% interest rate which is unheard of in this day and age. Stephanie and Joe touched base today to make sure I was happy with the purchase and the car is driving great. I truly couldn't be happier. I want to also say Dewayne in the service department was very nice when I needed assistance with my previous vehicle.”

“I am resubmitting this new review of my experience with Ray Skillman Ford because first had to get some things resolved so that I can give an accurate and true review about my purchase. I believe I got things resolved. So apparently they have a new type of way to have us pay our down payments using our phones and such rather than in office or in person. I was not informed about this new process and was told to put my debit card away but no reason why. I assumed I got approved without down payment and or I had other thoughts running through my head, but I didn’t ask and she didn’t tell. Anyway, it was a miscommunication that is now resolved. I really like my new truck 2024 F-150 FX4 Rapid Red all trim black. Very beautiful truck! I like the way it handles for a 2.7 EcoBoost. I was displeased that I did not first get to test drive it or I would have possibly chosen a larger of the V6 options but for a 2.7 it has options to pick up momentum pretty quick. I already got a liner and top for the cargo area and gate, rain guards in all windows, hood protector, wheel-well liner because it does not not come with liners, front two windows tinted because the only ones that are tinted is the rear and the two side rear windows, I removed the OEM Air filter unit to install a Roush cold air kit, I really like the infotainment system very big and has a lot of technology built in it. All in all I believe I got a really good deal on it and I am very satisfied.
Thank you Skillman Ford once again for probably my sixth purchase now!”
