I’ve dealt with Betten Volvo twice now, once for sales a while back and recently for service. Both experiences were awful. I’m writing this because I’m genuinely unimpressed and want others to know what they’re walking into. Back when I was shopping for a used V90 with higher miles, I went in ready to buy. I did my homework. I checked KBB, looked at market prices, and came prepared to negotiate to a fair number. The sales team wouldn’t budge at all, even though my offer was right in line with reality. The sales manager was straight-up rude and acted like I wasn’t the right type of person to buy a Volvo. He basically told me to leave if I wasn’t going to pay their inflated price. I walked out and never looked back on buying there. Fast forward to service. I took my Volvo S60 in for an alignment, 60k mile service, transmission fluid flush, wheel/tire rotation, software updates, and to have them fix or straighten the passenger-side mirror. It only folds out about 75% instead of parallel with the door like the driver’s side. While they had it, they found it needed a torque mount replaced too. Okay, fine. $1,400 later and the car was supposedly done in under 6 hours. Except almost nothing got done right. The alignment? I don’t think they touched it. Driving there, the steering wheel was cocked 15 degrees left on the highway in a straight line. The same exact thing happened on the way home. No change whatsoever. The software updates? The version information remained the same before and after service. The mirror? Zero work done. It looked identical when I picked it up. I had to text the service advisor after I’d already paid to explain again what I meant. The service manager seems like a nice enough guy personally, but he clearly can’t communicate to his technicians what actually needs to be done. For $1,400 and half a day of my time, I got maybe the fluid flush, maybe the torque mount, and a rotation if I’m lucky. Everything else was ignored or hardly looked into. Overall, Betten Volvo’s sales department is arrogant and inflexible, and the service department is disorganized and unreliable. The local independent shops they recommend when they’re “backed up”? Go straight to one of those instead. You’ll save money and actually get your car fixed properly. I won’t be back, and I wouldn’t send anyone here either.

From the first phone call inquiring about a vehicle to the day we picked up our "new to us" truck, our experience was great! Ron was very friendly and helpful. He was always very responsive to texts, emails and phone calls. He never made us feel like we were bothering him and always took the time to answer our questions, and we had a lot of them. On the day we picked up the truck, the manager even took the time to come over and personally thank us for our business. My experience buying a 2025 Volvo XC90 at Betten Imports in Grand Rapids was excellent, thanks to Andy. He was kind, informative, and responded promptly to every call and text, and answered all my questions thoroughly. I appreciated never feeling pressured. A nice personal touch: I’d mentioned a fun nickname for my car, and when I arrived to pick it up, Andy had it waiting in the showroom with the name already set in the infotainment system! I'm very happy with my new XC90 and the service I received from the entire Betten Team. If you're looking for a new car, I highly recommend Betten Imports. Make sure you ask for Andy!

I had an excellent experience with Mason and Mark at Betten Imports Volvo. They were incredibly transparent throughout the entire process and made everything so efficient. When I arrived, all the paperwork and details were already prepared—truly a sign-and-drive experience. Mason also took a generous amount of time to walk me through all the features and make sure I felt totally comfortable with my new Volvo. I genuinely appreciate their professionalism and care. Highly recommend working with them!
