“⚠️ WARNING: Deceptive Financing & Unsafe Vehicle — Avoid at All Costs 🚨 I purchased a 2018 Volkswagen Passat from Broadway Auto Sales (Broadway Auto DFW/Cernat Auto Group), and what followed has been one of the worst car-buying experiences I’ve ever had. My experience involved deceptive financing practices, a vehicle with serious pre-existing mechanical defects, and a warranty that failed when I needed it most. 1. Deceptive Financing & Warranty Packing Before signing any paperwork, I explicitly instructed my salesperson, Jeff, in writing to remove the 12-month extended warranty and GAP coverage because they increased my monthly payment beyond . Instead of honoring my request, Jeff told me the products couldn’t be removed because the warranty company had “packaged” the deal that way and that this was simply “how they structured the approval.” Based on my experience, that explanation was misleading. The American Warranty Group service contract remained in my financing despite my written instructions to remove it, increasing the overall cost of my loan. 2. The Vehicle Was Sold With Serious Mechanical Problems I took delivery of the vehicle on June 19. Within 24 hours, it began shaking violently, idling rough, and misfiring. Jeff directed me to their affiliated repair shop, Broadway Auto Repair, where I was told to see a mechanic named Alex. Less than a week later, the vehicle completely failed to start. A battery diagnostic confirmed the battery had failed. When I asked the dealership to replace it, Jeff’s manager refused unless I paid additional money toward my down payment, leaving me without reliable transportation. 3. Independent Inspection Revealed Approximately $7,000 in Pre-Existing Repairs Because the vehicle continued to deteriorate, I had it towed to European Car Care for a comprehensive inspection. The diagnostic report identified approximately $7,000 in needed repairs, including numerous issues that clearly did not develop during my first 11 days of ownership, including: ● Blown, leaking front struts with excessive bounce ● Failed suspension ball joints and worn control arm bushings ● Torn axle boots with severely worn CV joints causing loud clicking noises ● Internal fuel injector failure (Diagnostic Code P0201) ● Failed crankshaft position sensor, failed crankcase vent valve, and EVAP/emissions faults (Codes P0321, P2407, and P2279) resulting in a persistent EPC warning light These defects indicate the vehicle had significant mechanical problems before it was sold. 4. The Warranty They Sold Me Was Essentially Worthless The situation became even more frustrating when the American Warranty Group service contract—the same warranty that remained in my financing after I requested its removal—denied coverage for the major engine repairs as well as the axle and CV boot repairs. As a result, I was left with thousands of dollars in repair costs on a vehicle I had owned for less than two weeks. Final Thoughts Based on my experience, this dealership sold me a vehicle with extensive pre-existing mechanical issues while adding products to my financing that I had specifically requested be removed. When serious problems arose almost immediately, I received little meaningful assistance, and the warranty provided virtually no protection. I have since initiated a formal dispute and dealer buyback request with Credit Acceptance Corporation and have filed complaints with the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) and the Texas Attorney General’s Office. If you’re considering buying from Broadway Auto Sales (Broadway Auto DFW/Cernat Auto Group), I strongly encourage you to do your research, have any vehicle independently inspected before purchasing, and carefully review every financing document before signing. My experience has been costly, stressful, and deeply disappointing. Car has been in the shop since June 24 I have screenshot it every message from Jeff. I have receipts”

“I can't believe this shady dealership is still in business. We bought a car from them less than a year ago, and it's been nothing but a nightmare from day one. They conveniently "forgot" to disclose the mountain of issues this vehicle had. What they called a minor "fender bender" turned out to be a severely compromised car that should have never been sold to anyone. Within months, we discovered the extent of the hidden damage, and the car was eventually deemed undrivable. We also had to shell out for new tires almost immediately because the ones on it were garbage. This wasn't a used car — this was a rolling death trap they pushed on us knowing full well it wasn't safe or reliable. Do yourself a favor and run. These people are dishonest, unprofessional, and clearly prioritize making a quick sale over basic ethics or customer safety. I have no idea how they have any positive reviews — probably from people who haven't dealt with the aftermath yet. Worst purchase of my life. Never again. Save your money and your sanity — go somewhere trustworthy.”

“We were very interested in purchasing a 2011 Honda CR-V from this dealership and had already gone through financing discussions and a test drive. During the test drive, the check engine light was on, and we were told the vehicle was being sent to the shop for repairs/replacement of the catalytic converter. We were told we’d receive updates once the repairs were completed, including information about any warranty. Unfortunately, after that point, communication completely stopped. I followed up asking for updates and never received a response, only to later find out the vehicle had been sold. I understand cars sell quickly, but better communication and follow-through would have been appreciated, especially after we had invested significant time in the process, with a baby in tow, and driving a long distance.”

“I would give them 10/5 stars if I could! I had an amazing experience buying my car from this team. From the very beginning, they were honest, friendly, and truly focused on helping me find the right car instead of just making a sale. They made the whole process smooth and stress-free, answered all my questions, and treated me with kindness and respect the entire time. One thing that really stood out was how clean and well-maintained all the vehicles were, including the ones I test drove and the one I ultimately purchased. It was clear they take real pride in offering reliable, clean vehicles and truly care about the quality of what they sell. I absolutely love the car they helped me get into, and I couldn’t be happier with my experience. Their customer service was outstanding, and it’s obvious they genuinely care about their customers and what they drive off the lot in. I will definitely recommend them to anybody looking for a vehicle. Thank you again for such a great experience!”
