“I came into CarMax today to assist my parents in selling their car to CarMax. For the most part, CarMax is one of the places to sell you car if you do not want to go through the private seller process. If you do a trade-in at the dealer, you will not get much, but CarMax will generally give you a much higher and reasonable price on your car. As for buying a car, the prices are generally a little higher than if you shop around and haggle with a used car dealer. The price for buying a car is firm. The nice thing about buying at CarMax is that they do fully detail their cars and do full inspections/servicing of their cars prior to putting on the lot to sell. Today, we had a good experience. My sister had scheduled the appointment on the wrong day, but fortunately they weren’t busy yet and there was only 1 person ahead of us. Everyone we dealt with in this process were very nice. I did take 1 star off due to the selling process took a little longer at this location. I have sold 2 other cars personally at 2 different locations and the selling process took less steps and was a little faster. From the time they started the appraisal process to the time we got the check took about 45 minutes.”

“The car I found was in great condition and it was great price. The no haggle was different but it made the experience much better knowing there weren’t hidden fees or that I needed to bring my master negotiator skills to not get ripped off. But most car dealers don’t really haggle nowadays anyways so no real downside there. -1 star for service, I had a repair order that was ignored until I called to follow up and then I had to start the whole process over again. I need to call them for every step of the process otherwise it’s gets ignored until I call and make them perform the next step”

“1/21/25 **** My 90 day warranty is almost up. I took my car in with a few concerns. I know NOTHING about cars. Explain a few of my concerns and I’m sure my explanation wasn’t very clear. So instead of just blowing me off or telling me everything is fine. They actually took the time to figure out what I was trying to explain and they fixed my concerns . Buying a vehicle is a big Financial investment and with CarMax and their 90 day warranty just reassure me that I made the best decision to purchase from them. Plus the Service team is such a great group of people.

They offer the 90 day warranty on all there vehicles. It just reassures for me and gives me comfort in my purchase. Only had my car for a few days and I noticed a leak. Came into service to have it looked at. The girl who helps you is so kind! She even offered me a uber home and back if I don’t want to wait. I live 40 mins away and they still would do it for me. As of right now, I would buy from them again.”

“Don’t waste your Time going to this place Yesterday I went bringing My 2007 Bentley Gt 37 k miles. Excellent condition. MSRP 200.000 To get an appraisal. Only To. My. Shock of an Appraisal for 24.000. A vehicle that cost 1400 for an oil change. That is when I found out the company and staff of Car. Max are clueless and our their to Rip Off the consumer giving them Pennies for the trade in vehicles. Especially a High End Luxury Super Car like a Bentley Gt You want to get. Ripped off for your trade come to this in organized. Facility they will be happy to see you and give you the lowest possible price for your vehicle!! Total. Joke of a business”

“I had a GREAT experience with Nathan. Omg, so my car was totaled in a hit and run (I was the victim) on 9/13. I am a single mom, and while I make a great income I’ve struggled through a nasty divorce which hurt my credit a bit, and I didn’t have a ton of cash saved up for a down payment. By the time my insurance did their thing and the gap insurance covers my last vehicle, I was left with 0 and in a panic NOT knowing what to do or how I was going to get a car …. I walked into Carmax not even knowing if I’d leave with another vehicle….. I walked out literally with one of my bucket list items, a nice luxury car for the first time in my life. I paid $100 down, that’s IT! Nathan was incredible, honest, informative through out the entire process. He was honest about the risks I’d be taking, recommended a great service place to mitigate that risk for me (no, this isn’t a sales tactic, it is SMART and quite reasonable) my monthly payments are barely over what I was paying for my last car which I got through a Kia dealership (2016 Subaru legacy) . I am so happy! The only downside, the lien holder that approved my loan didn’t offer GAP insurance , but that’s okay because I’m learning you can purchase that separately and it’s actually less expensive than through a dealership. That was the only negative but it didn’t really have to do with Carmax. Anyhow, I am forever grateful and would recommend Carmax to ANYONE. Incredibly reasonable. I feel like if I would have went through a Honda, Toyota dealership I would have walked out paying way more monthly and way more out of pocket.”
