I've trusted Jack Daniels Fair Lawn NJ with my now third VW Beetle. I just had it serviced and all went well. Everyone is very pleasant and professional, and I was in and out and on my way in my freshly washed VW Beetle! Great job!

If I could give this place ZERO Stars I would! I had to find a VW dealer as I have a VW Jetta Tdi with a check engine light. I knew in advance what the problem was (DPF + EGR issues) and I made an appointment one week in advance. The service center didn't even LOOK at my car until 3 days later. They kept telling me that they were backed up with other vehicles and would get to it the next day. After the 3rd of waiting, I argued that I would not be paying their $190 diagnostic fee because I needed my car back. Magically after I said that, my car was seen by a technician. Of course, typical of most dealerships, they wanted to replace all the things wrong with my 15 year old car and charge me thousands of dollars. I declined, but knew that I would have to eat the $190 diagnostic fee. Though I was not happy paying a fee for nothing, I at least knew I would have a detailed invoice of what repairs I needed to get done to avoid paying another diagnostic fee with another VW Dealer. When I go in to pick up my car, I find that they've charged me an additional "environmental fee" of $13.23 AND they want to charge me a 2.5% credit card processing fee. I complained and fought with the manager - Adrian Bordone - that this was unacceptable and poor customer service. There was no sign anywhere on the premises disclosing a 2.5% processing fee AND I was paying by Debit Card which they were absolutely NOT supposed to charge a fee against as it violates Visa Rules and Regulations (I used to work at a bank and handle merchant processing.) They refused to reimburse me or do anything and simply said "that's what we charge." This service center is a SCAM and I am filing a formal complaint with the New Jersey Consumer Affairs and Visa. I do NOT recommend anyone go to this place for any type of repair work as they are SHADY and have Horrible customer service.

The good: Melvin is an excellent Service Representative. Personable & efficient. I would go back just because of him. Beautiful complimentary car wash job. The bad; The dealership service department will always attempt the upsell, and for anyone who isn’t that familiar with cars, it works. One can go in for an oil change and easily come out owing thousands. They will also habitually put their license plate frames on your car WITHOUT your authorization.

The only reason for my low review is because of the parts/ sales department. They take so long. There’s only like one guy working and the wait is annoyingly long just to get a simple part. And some people there on the sales team have a very rude attitude as I just asked a question where’s the part department and what time they close. Huge perks go to a guy named Paul very helpful and kind very much like him. At least he has some RESPECT AND MANNERS.
