“I had an amazing experience there today. First, some context to drive home the story. I’ve lived in Miami for 51 years, so I’m instinctively a jaded buyer and extremely thorough with my research. I’ve always figured 99% of car dealerships are out to rip buyers off. I’ve also been doing investigative TV news for nearly 30 years, so I’m cautious by nature, especially when it comes to my family making a big purchase. I moved to Port St. Lucie last November, but I’m still hardwired with the Miami mentality. So when my two sons went in to buy their first cars, I came along ready for a fight. Today was a refreshing surprise. I worked with Tom D. on the sales side and Paul F. in finance, and they took extremely good care of both my boys. Even with me hovering like an overprotective hawk, they didn’t throw out a bunch of inflated numbers to kick off the usual negotiating pissing contest. The prices and interest rates they gave us were actually better than what my own research turned up, based on the VIN and each of my sons’ credit history. Long story short, I walked in ready to battle and none of it was necessary. I’ll be back next summer when my Kona’s lease runs out. Maybe for a Santa Fe 😎”
