“I know my credit is not all that good. And when I did a soft credit check. They said they take any trade ins. No matter what. I said my trade has a salvage title(I know this isn’t good) they told me no problem at all. Assured me they will be able to work with me. They then asked me what payments I m Willing to pay. I said no more than $400 a month. Once again. Assured no problem. Made an appointment for noon on a Saturday. Called in morning to make sure they can work with me. Same thing. So I drove a hour and a half just to get told they can’t take my trade and my payment will be $700 a month for a car that has over 95,000 miles. Get out of here. Dealerships are hurting so bad that they will lie to your face to get you in. Horrible business practice and I will not recommend going here. Sales lady was nice and sweet. But didn’t know anything about vehicles and had to google everything.”

“I got a truck from them a few months ago and it’s been nothing but hassle. Their salesman Eric told me my payments would be 350 for the first 2 payments, then about 180 and some change every two weeks after that. I had stated multiple times that I could only afford around 300 a month, and they slipped a higher payment into my contract without my knowledge. I tried 4-5 separate times to reach out to someone about it and was given the runaround and straight up ignored, I now have to pay over $700+ a month. I’ve had to go to food pantries and fall behind on important bills because I couldn’t get it fixed. I contacted my lender, who said the only ones who could change the payment is the dealership. Eventually the truck broke down and needed towed so I called them to get things figured out, and was told that my warranty covered a year of road side assistance, just to find out that wasn’t true. I talked to them about my payments at this moment as well, (It was the first time I had been able to talk to someone after having my calls dodged.) and was told they couldn’t change the payments, only the lender can. The opposite of what the lenders told me. Save your money. These people are scam artists. The picture below is an unanswered text a little bit after being told they would “look into it” I never heard back Edit: Even after they responded to this review to call so they can help, it was a repeat of the same issue. It seems like this IS the level of service they provide. After speaking with a lawyer, and a few people that have bought from Grote, it seems to be a “Bait & Switch” scam. They showed me a good price on paper, then switched it when signing the electronic documents that they didn’t let me see, and just scrolled past everything.”

“Beware: please read all!!! We got a vehicle from them about a year ago! It was only a few years old, originally we were happy with the vehicle and thrilled they were able to help us get into a running vehicle being our troubled past after leaving military service! The vehicle started falling apart immediately. It started with little things like stitching on the seat on day one, after a week or so the check engine light was on, then we noticed there was no housing for the tester and we had a very hard time finding one to put on it. After getting that fixed the vehicle was fine a few weeks but then started locking itself in park leaving us stranded at random places. I traveled locally at times for work and got stranded at the homes of clients on multiple occasions. We replaced a switch and thought it fixed it. A few days later again we were again stuck in park and could not drive the vehicle. This continued for a months before the check engine light came on again and we could not get it out of park. Immediately following this sequence the vehicle tended to die and we were generally stuck with a vehicle that not only didnt drive but wouldnt come out of park. It is currently parked at a shop with limited access making it hard to get a tow truck i, its dead, locked somehow, all because again it put itself in park and would not let us get it out of park. We ended up going out and paying cash for another vehicle about 2 months ago and are now stuck with this vehicle! This is the only car I have bought with this many issues this fast especially when buying a vehicle only a few years old! Just be careful and make sure you do your due diligence! Go over the vehicle with a very fine tooth comb. Take it somewhere to get checked out. Or maybe a few places. O not to mention a few months after I bought it and got it insured I got a call from my insurance company stating they were increasing my policy because the vehicle had been in an accident!!! To my surprise… My lender said if I had reported it sooner they would have gone after them for lemon law violations, I still may who knows, but this does not leave me in a good situation at all nor would it you! I went to 6 different car lots trying to get a 392 scat pack and got denied everywhere along the way, getting told i wasn’t able to get the car for various reasons. These guys didn’t skip a beat getting me approved and the quickness at which they transferred the car was phenomenal!! This is hands down the best car dealer ship on planet earth. I just couldn’t say enough good things about the people and how they treated me and my family and also the way they went about getting me into my new ride.
