“I purchased a 2019 Tahoe with 69,xxx miles from this dealership in April 2025. At the time of purchase, I checked all the fluids myself and the vehicle ran great with zero concerns or issues. As of September 2025, just a few months and less than 6,000 miles later, the transmission failed and needs to be replaced. I am 41 years old and, as my wife jokes, I “drive like I’m driving Miss Daisy.” This vehicle has not been abused in any way since I’ve owned it. The repair shop confirmed that the transmission fluid was extremely dark and that the transmission was now shot. While I understand I purchased the vehicle “as-is,” it’s very hard to believe there weren’t pre-existing issues when I bought it. A major failure like this, in such a short time frame, is unfortunate. Fortunately, I did purchase the extended warranty the dealership offered, but buyers should be aware that the coverage is capped at a specific dollar amount, which does not fully cover the cost of a transmission replacement. Bottom line: I’m disappointed. I expected more. Future buyers should be very cautious, get a full inspection from an independent mechanic before purchase (not sure if it would have caught this issue if the transmission fluid had recently been changed and the inspection doesn’t drop the pan - not going to happen), and read the fine print on the warranty carefully.”
