“We leased a Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport back in 2022 and looking back we definitely feel like we got duped. At the time we were excited, didn’t slow down, and didn’t read every single detail the way we should have, and that part is on us, lesson learned the hard way. But with a high credit score, strong payment history, and no money down, we now realize the deal we were handed was not good at all. Overly high payment a month for a lease is wild. We qualified for top tier credit and still somehow walked out with terms that just don’t make sense when you really sit down and break them down. It’s frustrating because when you trust the process and assume the numbers are fair based on your credit, you don’t expect to feel like you overpaid by that much. We were excited in the moment and that excitement cost us. At the end of the day nobody forced us to sign, we take responsibility for not slowing down and reading everything carefully, but it’s definitely a reminder that just because you qualify for the best rates doesn’t mean you’re automatically getting the best deal. Big lesson learned, always review every number, always compare offers, always negotiate, and never let excitement rush the decision. We won’t make that mistake again.”
