“I could not be happier with the service and care my wife and I received from Joe Machens Ford.
Jessica Cosner was our sales person, and she was absolutely amazing. She was attentive and very patient as we sorted through vehicles and options that were important to us.
Brent Benn was the showroom manager who also work very hard to ensure no stone was left unturned in finding the exact vehicle we desired.
Jessica and Brent proved to us that they will ALWAYS be our go-to team. They worked very well together to get us the best vehicle at an unbeatable price!
Marc Weiner was our finance officer who gave us all the time we needed to ask questions and ensure we understood all elements of the process.

“I am writing this review to create awareness, not to blame or accuse any individual or business; the only one to blame is myself for believing that Joe Machens Ford was an honest and trustworthy business.
On January 15, 2026, I purchased a 2018 BMW X5 35i xDrive from Joe Machens Ford in Columbia, MO. I drove six hours from Kentucky because this vehicle had the features I was looking for.
During the drive back to Kentucky, I began noticing several issues that were not apparent during the test drive. I fully understood that I was buying a used vehicle with 82,400 miles, and I expected that some maintenance and part replacements would be necessary. However, I made the mistake of relying on the salesman’s assurances. He was friendly, courteous, and respectful, but the vehicle was not as solid as I was led to believe. It is disappointing that even when they knew I was coming from so far away, ready to buy, the dealer chose to sell me the vehicle immediately instead of advising me to allow them time to ensure it was properly inspected and road‑worthy.
While I did have the opportunity to inspect the car before purchasing it, some problems only become noticeable after extended driving. Had any of these issues been apparent during the inspection, I would absolutely not have purchased the vehicle. And even though I noticed these problems on the drive home, returning to the dealership would have been pointless, as I knew they would simply point to the “as‑is” agreement I signed.
These are the issues I discovered:
• The brake system does not engage correctly. It appears that whoever serviced the brake pads did not follow BMW’s required procedures for this model, which may have damaged the pistons in the rear brake calipers. This is not only a serious safety concern but also a costly repair.
• The vehicle does not reach normal operating temperature for either the oil or the coolant. This is likely due to a failing electric coolant pump and a failing thermostat, both of which appear not to have been serviced.
• The coolant pump and thermostat ultimately failed and appear never to have been maintained.
• The head unit had been tampered with and now cannot accept updates, even after flashing and coding with ISTA.
• The interior was covered in dog hair, requiring a full cleaning. This clearly indicates the vehicle was never properly detailed or prepared for sale.
Again, I understand the dealer may point to the “as‑is” agreement I signed. However, these issues were never disclosed, and it appears the vehicle was either not inspected before being offered for sale or the dealership lacked the expertise to evaluate a European vehicle properly.
My intention is simply to advise others: when purchasing a used European car from a dealership that specializes in a different brand, be aware that you may end up paying for their lack of expertise or attention to detail. And if it’s not an issue of expertise or care, then it becomes a matter of honesty toward the customer. And in this case, they didn’t just lose a customer—they did it at the expense of their own reputation.”

“With the help of Dave Johnson, we recently purchased a brand new 2025 Ford Explorer. Dave was working behind the scenes for a few weeks, trying to help us decide which model and color we wanted to go with. Last minute, we decided to make the decision to purchase, and despite it being the end of the day, Dave was quick to get us in, make us a great offer, and close the deal. Dave sent us on to Duron Singleton to finalize the financing portion. Duron was great; nice, quick, and efficient. We had tickets to go to the Mizzou game that evening, but we knew traffic and parking were going to be a nightmare at this point (7:30pm). We debated skipping the game. Dave was so generous and gave us a ride to the stadium, dropping us right in front, eliminating the traffic and parking nightmare. “After visiting Kia and Honda and having a horrible experience as a first-time car buyer looking to finance a brand-new vehicle, coming here was by far the best decision I made!
