“Had my car for two months, noticed a headlight was out the day I bought the car, calls being ignored, not as honest as they make themselves out to be. Will go into even more detail if this problem still doesn’t get fixed. Apparently reviews are the only thing they care about. Video is after their mechanic took my headlight apart and made the problem worse.”

“I'm changing my good review into the following for the reasons listed below.
I want to share my experience with 1OwnerCar so others can be informed before making a purchase. Initially, the car I bought seemed fine, but within a few weeks, Subaru diagnosed it as needing a new engine due to a cracked head. I took it back to 1OwnerCar multiple times, but their mechanic was unable to fix the problem. Frustrated, I took the car back to Subaru, where they confirmed the extent of the damage.
When Subaru contacted 1OwnerCar to discuss the necessary repairs, the person they spoke with asked if they could "just change the fluids and send the car on its way." This response was shocking, given the severity of the engine damage.
After much back and forth, 1OwnerCar finally agreed to contribute to the cost of a replacement engine—but only through a mechanic they chose, rather than letting me decide, despite the fact that I had just spent $22,000 on a used car. Eventually, I convinced them to contribute what they would have spent on the repair, including labor and the salvage engine they had sourced (with a 1-year warranty). I opted to pay the difference for a better salvage engine from Subaru, which had fewer miles and a lifetime warranty.
The reason the engine needed replacement was even more concerning—Subaru discovered that the car had suffered a severe head-on collision, which had caused the cracked engine head. This was never disclosed to me by 1OwnerCar.
Later, while doing my own research, I stumbled across pictures of the Subaru at auction before it was sold by 1OwnerCar. The images showed clear water damage inside the car from a leaking moonroof. I also found a picture of the car’s dashboard with all the warning lights illuminated. I highly doubt these issues were actually fixed—instead, they likely just deleted the error codes before putting the car up for sale.
A month after getting the engine replaced, I finally got my car back, only to return to Subaru due to a knocking noise. It turned out to be bad transmission mounts. While replacing them, Subaru found even more damage—the transmission itself was rubbing against the car’s frame. This confirmed that the previous accident had caused extensive structural damage beyond what I had already dealt with.
At no point did 1OwnerCar provide a Carfax report, which I believe should have been included. When I asked, the salesman told me I could buy one myself. Had they provided it upfront, I could have avoided this nightmare.
For anyone considering buying from 1OwnerCar—get the VIN and do your own research first. This experience has cost me the price of a brand-new car, not to mention the extreme emotional and financial stress. I hope this helps someone else avoid what I went through.”
