“Every single service person from Carmax that we interacted with was amazing. We felt no pressure at any point to make a purchase. The sales person that we used, Brandon, was extremely honest with us about his experience with different brands and cars that he had driven. I had a small issue within the first 30 days and took it back and they completely serviced it with no charge. Their Service team were just as friendly. Everyone explained every single detail to us. 10 out of 10 would buy another car here.”

“I've come to really appreciate the "no-haggle" pricing at CarMax. In all my buyer research I've never found their prices to be unfair. I've gone through the "try to find a desperate dealer who will lower the price" and it's just not worth the hassle and stress. The staff at the Chattanooga dealership was very helpful and friendly - they made the process a breeze!”

“Sales team is excellent.
Customer service is excellent even the finance department was great. What bothered me is that I got my car shipped and took a few days to get here (which is fine and great! Totally understandable) what I have an issue with is that according to the website there is an inspection period when the car is delivered to make sure it’s drivable when it’s delivered. When I came to test drive it the sales rep had to jump the car cause it had a dead battery. Which I assume should be under the inspection. What I want to know is are you actually doing the inspection or was this missed? I know battery isn’t that big issue but when it’s supposed to be inspected and it wasn’t that makes not trust that the inspectors aren’t doing their job.”

“My husband and I have bought our last three cars as a Carmax for a very good reasons.
1) We Can always trust the car will be in mint condition and have no issues 100% of the time.
2.) They are transparent about financing options and don’t try to trick you in anything you can pre-qualify online. It’s super easy and what you prequalified for is exactly what you get. No confusion, no rerunning your credit no hassle.
3.) They have an express pick up option and the times pass. We’ve spent several hours at the dealership. Now you can go ahead and begin the express pick up process online. It literally took us 40 minutes from start to finish to buy our new car.
They also gave us a very reasonable offer for the car we traded in. I can’t recommend Carmax enough!”

“I contacted CarMax by phone to apply for a car, as any regular customer would. However, this particular location was not very helpful. They asked me to fill out two additional applications, which left me confused about the one I had already completed with all my information. Unfortunately, the car I was interested in had too many miles and was priced at 14k with a down payment of 1500. When I visited the store in Chattanooga TN to finalize the paperwork, they seemed disorganized and not on the same page as each other. The customer service over the phone and in-store seemed to be different experiences; they simply set you up without ensuring your satisfaction. I had to constantly remind them of my identity in order to proceed with getting the car. This is not how I prefer to do business, especially when there were numerous hidden fees on top of everything else. Overall, I was disappointed with this situation and the car itself had very high mileage. They even wanted me to pay additional fees for a 2016 car that was not part of our initial agreement over the phone. Additionally, CarMax's transfer fees were exorbitant and their used cars did not seem to be in good condition; the one I was approved for was already falling apart. In a way, it was fortunate that they showed their true colors early on so that I could move forward without getting this car. Based on my experience, I would not recommend CarMax to anyone else.”
