“BUYER BEWARE ‼️ We flew from Boston to see a 2017 Grey C63s after the dealership told us the car was in excellent condition. Owner Tony sent us their internal inspection report, which appeared nearly perfect, and an OBD-II scan (page.10&11) showing no codes. He also arranged for an employee to pick us up from the airport. Communication was smooth at first, and they allowed us to take the car to Mercedes-Benz of Pittsburgh for an independent inspection, which we appreciated. When we arrived, we immediately noticed the driver’s seat separating from the back plastic panel, something that was not obvious to us from the pictures on their website. When I asked about it, Steve, the second owner, said, “It is what it is for a used car.” I understand a used car will not be flawless, but this was far from what I would consider normal wear. We paid $235 for a professional inspection at Mercedes-Benz of Pittsburgh. (Own decision) Their inspection, for which we have documentation, identified issues that were not shown in the dealership’s inspection: an engine oil leak, (Understand this may be a common problem, especially in AMG, but it didn't show in their internal inspection), an exhaust camshaft position deviation on cylinder bank 2, and play in the front left lower ball joint. Even if you don’t repair these issues at Mercedes, fixing them at independent shops would still cost thousands. Despite these findings, Alex, the third owner, declined to negotiate or offer any compromise. The ride back to the airport, which had been arranged beforehand, was also canceled after we said we needed time to think about these issues (to be clear, I would understand if they refuse to give us a ride back after we directly said we wouldn’t buy the car — even though they had promised — but in this case we only said we needed some time to think about the issues). At the time, the car was listed for $44,977, which was already about $900 above the market price on CarGurus. With the additional repair costs identified in the independent inspection, the actual cost to make the car right would have been far higher than the listed price. Don't get me wrong, maybe not all of their cars have issues, this is just based on our own experience. The dealership’s internal inspection was NOT reliable and missed major mechanical problems. If you are considering purchasing from here, get a full inspection at a reputable shop and DO NOT rely solely on their internal report. If you are traveling from out of state, be aware that transportation services they offer may not be guaranteed unless you are committed to purchasing.”
