“We had the single most positive car buying experience of our lives at Gettel Toyota of Lakewood. Our salesperson, Mido, was absolutely fantastic. Knowledgeable, professional, and personable. Answered all our questions promptly and found us the perfect Grand Highlander Hybrid. His manager JR was also helpful, with both gentlemen doing everything they could to get us the best deal possible. We also enjoyed our experience with Brittany in the finance group. Again, she was able to quickly answer all our questions and figure out the best financing options for us. We highly recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a new car, especially someone expecting to dread the experience. Ask for Mido- you’ll be amazed at how great the car buying experience can be, just like we were.

“We wanted to trade our Miata and buy a Camry Solara convertible we'd seen advertised. We were provided excellent service, especially from Nuri, the salesperson, and another sales person, Carlos Webb.
Carlos went above and beyond to help us get the plate off one car and installed on the new one.
If it was not so far from my house, I'd be taking it thee for service.”

“My wife and I had a great experience shopping for a used vehicle recently at Gettel Toyota of Bradenton. We met Mello (one of the sales representatives) on the lot and he helped us out with our appointment to check out a truck I was very interested in. He got us the keys and let us take the truck for a quick test drive and was super helpful with questions we had. An important part of the buying process for me is feeling like the person I’m working with is genuine and that I’m not being taken advantage of as a potential buyer. Mello checked those boxes and was super personable and funny. This made the experience better than what we imagined it may be. Ultimately on that day, the finance department turned down the negotiation Mello and I worked on shortly after presenting it to them and I ended up leaving, knowing my budget I was sticking to. Two days later, Rocky the GM texted asking about the experience. I mentioned that Mello was awesome to work with and that I was bummed we couldn’t get the deal done with the price point he tried to make work. 10 minutes later I received a call saying that they would be willing to make that price work. The next day I went back to the dealership and picked up the truck on the agreed price. Hats off to Mello, Rocky and Daniel in the finance department for making the experience way better than I thought this car buying experience was going to be. I highly recommend booking an appointment with Mello! We’ll be back when we decide to upgrade our other vehicle. Thanks again!”

“Buying what I thought was my dream truck turned into one of the most distressing car-buying experiences I’ve ever had. I purchased a Gold Certified Toyota Tacoma and drove it home 250 miles at night — with a screw still in the tire that I had pointed out during my initial walk-around with the salesperson. Despite spending over five hours at the dealership, the issue was never addressed before I left as the service center had closed.
When I tried to discuss unexpected add-on charges for “Auto Butler” (a cheap ceramic coating) and “door and cup guards” (which were already dirty and clearly not new), the sales manager, Timothy “Timo” Fitzgerald, was dismissive and rude, making me feel like I had no right to question or negotiate fees that weren’t listed on the advertised vehicle price.
When I got the truck home, I discovered a taillight was out, requiring a service visit to patch the tire and replace the bulb — which the dealership did cover, thankfully. My wife emailed Avery Burke to share our concerns so other customers wouldn’t have a similar experience, but his reply showed little professionalism, empathy, or accountability.
During the finance process, Daniel Lopez added two service plans to my contract without clearly explaining their cost or coverage. That part was my oversight for not catching it, but the lack of transparency was disappointing. To his credit, Daniel was the only employee who expressed genuine concern about my tire issue and made sure it wasn’t leaking before I drove away.
As for the truck itself — after the interior detailing products wore off, it became clear that the previous owner had smoked in the vehicle, something that should have been disclosed or addressed before sale.
Overall, this dealership repeatedly failed to meet even basic standards of customer service, integrity, and professionalism. I truly regret finalizing my purchase here and would strongly caution anyone considering buying a used vehicle — or any vehicle — from Gettel Toyota of Bradenton.”
