“UPDATE, what a liar! ⭐ 1 Star — Classic Bait & Switch. Stay Far Away. I rarely write reviews but felt obligated to warn others after today's experience at IDeal in Bensonhurst. We have a 2023 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid, fully loaded, low mileage, no accidents, pristine condition. Before making any moves, we did our homework — getting quotes from Carvana, CarMax, Driveway.com, and through CarGurus, which connected us with IDeal. The market quotes ranged from $25,000–$27,000. IDeal came in on the higher end, which is exactly why we chose them. Before making the trip out to Brooklyn — with two young kids and our dog in tow — we called multiple times to confirm the quote was legitimate and not a bait and switch. We were told directly: "The quote is real, and could even be higher depending on the car's condition." We made the drive. Their own inspector looked over the car and confirmed it was in perfect condition — no damage, no accidents, low mileage. Then the manager came back with $23,500. Nearly $3,000 below the quote that got us in the door. When we pushed back, the manager was rude and dismissive, tried to blame CarGurus for the number — even though HE is the one making the offer. Then had the audacity to suggest maybe they could do better if we were interested in buying a car from them. This is a textbook bait and switch. They wasted an entire afternoon of our time, lured us in with a number they had no intention of honoring, and were unapologetic about it. The manager's attitude was the cherry on top. I'm sure they'll respond to this review with some polished excuse — don't believe it. Do yourself a favor and stick with Carvana, CarMax, or Driveway — transparent, no games, no wasted trips. UPDATE After the manager replied and spread lies about us. I have to clarify. Do not trust this dealership, period. How interesting that the manager felt the need to reply and lie about all the “steps they took”. This was supposed to take 30 minutes of our time…oh thank you for the cheese doodles and a drink after waiting for hours while you wasted our time. The customer is right and it’s a shame you are trying to lie to make yourself look good. Your own inspection guy stated “we could maybe get you a better price if you bought a car”. You are a liar and do not spread misinformation about me or my family. Stay away from this shady dealership and manager.”
