“We purchased two used cars at Luther Bloomington Acura over the past couple of weeks. We worked with both Brendan Krogstad and Jared Oxborough. Both of them are friendly, knowledgeable, and have great communication which really helped with our search for a vehicle, the test drives, and purchase process. No pressure at all. They were interested in helping us get into a car that would be right for us. We knew one car we were purchasing needed a couple items tended to prior to the purchase and so I can speak for their service department as well. Brought the car in, was put into a loaner, and the service team were communicative as well. Excellent service all the way around! Steve”

“Went in for a simple oil change on my TLX Type S. During their “complimentary inspection,” they checked my engine air filter and cabin air filter . After I declined their service, they didn’t put everything back properly. The intake bolts were left loose, and I had to tighten them myself. A few weeks later, my undershield came loose and bent, which shows the bolts weren’t tightened either. Now I have to buy a new undershield and install it myself. Very careless work for a dealership. I won’t be coming back and don’t recommend them for service.”

“UPDATE: In reply to their response, their reasoning was “the previous owner wants to keep their plates”—despite it being on the car. Overall shady with excuses. I had a disappointing experience with Bloomington Subaru/Acura. From the start, I felt they were dishonest. They told me the vehicle needed new plates because the previous owner wanted them, but in Minnesota, plates stay with the vehicle, so that was a red flag and made me feel uneasy, like they weren’t fully knowledgeable. During the paperwork process, I was pre-approved with Chase for about 7% interest, but the dealership told me the application had multiple issues. Since this was my first auto loan, I wasn’t familiar with how everything worked, and I ended up signing their new application, which reflected a higher rate of around 9%. Later, Chase called me personally to confirm I was approved for 7%, and when I mentioned what the dealership had told me, they assured me that nothing was wrong with the initial loan and that the issues were relatively easy fixes. Afterwards, I noticed the interior had major duct tape residue on the passenger side center console… something that totally should’ve been seen during their inspection and cleaned. The whole situation felt scummy. After I tried to call the dealership to ask questions about the discrepancies, they didn’t respond. The salesman was great—friendly and helpful—but the finance department left a lot to be desired. Overall, I felt misled and uncomfortable with their honesty and transparency. Just refinanced to get a great rate of 4%, never trusting them again. On the bright side, the car runs and looks great.”

“We worked w/ Jared O. Overall, we had an enjoyable experience; felt genuine and didn’t give me that yuck salesman feeling. We went to look with one specific vehicle in mind and that’s the one we ended up purchasing so I can’t speak to his sales tactics or knowledge on vehicles as that wasn’t at play, here. There were a few minor details we wanted corrected prior to closing the sale and he was happy to oblige. He (and his team) were fair with valuing my trade-in. This was my first dealership purchase, personally so although I was dreading this experience - it was surprisingly, rather painless. I LOVE my new vehicle! Thanks Jared!”
