“DO NOT BUY OR SERVICE CAR AT TEAM KIA!!! URGENT PLEASE READ!!! I WOULD GIVE ABSOLUTE ZERO!!! STARS IF I COULD!!
I bought a 2022 Hyundai Kona from them on may 18th 2026. Not even 20 days into driving the car I looked under the hood and saw practically no coolant in my radiator and saw there was a leak. When bringing it in to get serviced there was 2 cracks on either side of the radiator and they said it was due on me for wear and tear when I hadn’t even driven the car more then 30 days at that point. They mislead me about it being covered under my warranty that they also mislead about and did not disclose I would be paying for in my closing costs of when I bought the car. There is no way in the 30 days I drove the car to and from work that I believe I cracked my radiator in two places! I do not believe they did the full inspection of the car that they documented in CARFAX! I fought tooth and nail and got it fixed and covered. When coming to pick up the car the service team was sloppy and left tar glue on my hood. As well as when picked up saw a huge scratch on my bumper, and many many dents across almost the whole hood of my car! I have some before photos of when I bought the car and there was not huge amounts of chip dents all over the hood of my car and bumper as well as a gigantic scratch on my bumper that was there on pick up. As well as tar from them working on the car. When communicating with service manager she said to take photos and videos and when doing so completely stopped communicating with me! I called and called to finally get to the general manager regarding this. I had to then bring the car back to look at evidence. Their intake photos were not clear, incomplete and did not show parts of the car that was damaged! Nor correct stamp dates of when I dropped the car off Monday July 6th 2026. No picture either of the before of the massive scratch on my bumper as I did have photos of the before with NO SCRATCH. The general manger denied and said it was due to high mileage and rock damage! I do not believe it was rock damage as I have driven that car to and from work on clear smooth pavement. I do not believe it was from rock damage when I showed photo evidence I did not have those many chips on on my hood or tar glue! I’ve also barely have owned the car 5 weeks! He said he would have their detailer buff out the scratch and clean up the tar. THEY DID NOT CLEAN UP THE TAR OR BUFF OUT THE SCRATCH!! I left with the scratch still there as well as the tar! The photos I am adding is when I a second time picked up the car when they said they did buff and clean the tar glue. The photos do not do justice of how HORRIFIC the hood looks and bumper on my car. Not only do I really believe they damaged my car during service they sent a copy saying the car was hand washed after service and that I claimed it was due to service and their car wash for dents and scratches! There was NO DOCUMENTATION my car was washed either hand or car wash. The car was returned DIRTY!! Not only did I have to deal with all of this. But the ENTIRE team Kia dealership treated me horribly. The finance managers, the GENERAL MANAGER(especially), the sales team, SERVICE MANAGER, and service team. Were EXTREMELY rude, dismissive to me, curt, kept brushing me off, could CARE LESS about me as a customer that bought a car from them. No accountability from any of them!! I am extremely disappointed of how I was treated by every single person there and the immense stress and anxiety this has caused me. I have documented, screenshotted everything and more. PLEASE!! I NEVER WANT SOMEONE ELSE TO GO THROUGH THIS! DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT BUY OR SERVICE YOUR CAR THROUGH THEM! I will continue to fight and stand up for myself till accountability is taken for everything that has been done to me and my car.”

“**Second UPDATE**
Called May 18th around 1:45 PM and was told Bryce isn't in the office but will be tomorrow. I called same day as their response and then get told he is not in. Hopefully if they aim remedy the situation they can call when they are available.
**UPDATE**
This is to respond to Kia Bends comment to us:
Bryce, I appreciate the response and willingness to discuss this further.
We understand there will be some loss after driving the vehicle over the weekend, and we are not expecting a free swap. However, a trade value around $30,000 against a payoff of about $41,798 is simply too large of a loss for us to justify after only a few days.
If your team can work with us closer to the payoff amount while upgrading into the higher trim we originally wanted, we would absolutely be willing to remove this review, replace it with a 5-star review, and give a great survey for remedying the situation.
If not, we will most likely keep the current vehicle rather than take such a major loss, and leave our review up to reflect our experience.
Original comment:
1 star.
At the end of the day, we signed the paperwork, so we take responsibility for not slowing down and triple checking every feature and trim level ourselves. However, the issue we had was the amount of incorrect information given by the sales staff regarding the Kia Carnival trims and features.
About two months before purchasing, we did our first test drive with one salesperson who told us we were driving the base model, when it was actually the EX trim. Recently, when we came back and purchased with a different salesperson, features were discussed as if they were included on the trim we bought. Because of those conversations, we believed we were only stepping down one trim level and giving up a few small features, not buying the actual base trim.
After getting home and spending time with the vehicle, we realized multiple features we thought were included were not there. Again, we accept responsibility for signing the paperwork and not researching more deeply ourselves, but the dealership employees should know their own vehicles and trims before advising customers.
I will recognize they did meet one of our needs. I had a limited amount of time because I was on a work break, and they did a lot of the negotiating and paperwork preparation over the phone before we arrived. That part of the process was smooth and appreciated.
However, we had multiple needs, not just speed. We specifically mentioned multiple times that the SX trim was the one we really liked, and that we were okay stepping down one trim level to save money. At no point did anyone stop and clearly explain, “Hey, this is actually the base trim, so you are losing a lot compared to both the SX and the EX.” If someone had simply explained that clearly, we would have immediately realized the mistake before signing.
That kind of honesty and product knowledge would have made us even more loyal customers long term.
What disappointed us most was the lack of willingness to reasonably work with us afterward. We were willing to trade up immediately into a higher trim, meaning the dealership would have made another sale at a higher price. We understood there would be some loss because vehicles depreciate once driven off the lot, and we were realistic about that.
However, being told the vehicle had essentially lost around $11,000 in value after only 3 days and minimal use was not something we could financially justify. Especially considering we received a strong deal originally, the dealership could have likely resold the vehicle close to what we paid and worked with us somewhere in the middle. Even something closer to a small loss on our side would have kept us loyal customers long term.
Instead, it felt like once the paperwork was signed, customer service no longer mattered...
(There is more to the original comment but I am deleting some to keep the public up to date of the situation so you can see how team Kia treats their customers.)”

“I’ve always had good experiences here! Yesterday was very nice, I went in due to a recall (system update) on my carnival and RJ was kind and professional. He explained the recall in much better detail than the email Kia sent me, and when I picked up my car is was even washed and they put on the new wipers I had in my trunk. Good communication, not a long wait time for the appointment or the service day of. Highly recommend!”

“No issues at all — we loved their service! The customer service was really helpful. RJ, the young gentleman who assisted us, took great care of us. We left my baby (Kia) in good shape and felt very confident with their work. Highly recommend!”

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I had an excellent experience at Team Kia thanks to Matt and Jacob. They were fast, knowledgeable, and genuinely amazing to work with. The entire process was smooth and stress-free, and I never felt pressured at any point.
I would highly recommend Team Kia to anyone looking for a vehicle, and I will 100% be back when it’s time for my next SUV. Thank you both for such a great experience!”
