“Buyer Beware: Get everything in writing before trusting Patrick Mazda I recently purchased a used Volkswagen from Patrick Mazda, and I want to share my experience to warn future customers. I test-drove the car and paid my advance on August 1st. When I returned on August 5th to finalize the paperwork and pick up the vehicle, the salesperson handed me a single key. At no point in the online ad or during the sales process was it disclosed that the car only came with one key. When I objected, the salesperson apologized, supposedly spoke to his manager, and assured me that a second key was approved. He stated he would get it handled at the Patrick VW Service Center. Because it was exactly closing time (4:59 PM), he promised to set up the appointment for me and follow up on Friday since he was off on Thursday. I didn't hear from him, so I reached out on Friday afternoon. He responded late, saying he was off that day as well, and promised an update on Saturday. On Saturday, he messaged me to say the General Manager had denied the request for the second key. He apologized again for “not remembering to disclose at the time of purchase.” Apologies mean absolutely nothing when a business refuses to honor its promises or take accountability for its mistakes. Watch out for these deceptive tactics and never take them at their word. I highly recommend getting every single promise in writing before signing anything at this dealership!”
