“I had a very disappointing experience at Vandergriff Toyota and would not recommend them based on how my deal was handled. First, they did not take the time to properly appraise my trade-in and rushed through the process. When we reviewed the purchase agreement, the sales price was completely wrong—inflated by over $20,000—which immediately raised serious concerns. I was also not allowed to properly test drive the vehicle. They restricted the test drive to just driving around the block and would not allow highway driving, making it impossible to fairly evaluate the truck. On top of that, there were several thousand dollars added in vague “dealer fees” that were not clearly justified. Even after negotiating, the numbers continued to change. The trade-in value on my purchase order was altered after the fact, leaving a $1,500 discrepancy that had not been agreed upon. By the time we reached the finance office, the process had taken so long and was so draining that we ultimately walked out—despite being approved and having negotiated terms—because the experience felt disorganized and untrustworthy. To make matters worse, the next morning I received a text from the dealership asking me to come back and finalize the deal. Before I could even make it there, I was informed that the truck had already been sold. To this day, the same truck is still posted online—now at a reduced price—which only adds to the confusion and lack of transparency. In contrast, I ended up purchasing a nicer truck for the same price at Freeman GMC in Grapevine, where the process was straightforward, transparent, and respectful of my time. That difference alone says a lot.”
