“I brought my 2012 Subaru Outback in for a clear power loss issue, especially at highway speeds and uphill. There were no check engine lights, but something was obviously wrong, so I paid $185 for a diagnostic inspection.
The initial explanation was that oil leaking into the spark plugs was causing the loss of acceleration. When I asked about a rattling noise underneath the vehicle, I was told it “appears” to be an exhaust manifold gasket and that it was not performance-related.
After I questioned how an exhaust issue could not affect performance, the diagnosis shifted to the catalytic converter breaking apart internally and restricting exhaust flow. That is a significant change in explanation.
At the same time, I was presented with a long list of costly recommended repairs. As a woman coming in alone, the approach felt overwhelming and pressured — especially without a clear, confident diagnosis from the start. What the service team didn’t realize initially is that my husband is a mechanic and had already formed educated suspicions about the issue. The inconsistencies became very apparent.
For $185, I expected a definitive and consistent diagnosis — not multiple evolving theories. I left questioning the accuracy of the assessment and will be seeking a second opinion.”

“My mom totaled her car ,and I wanted to get her the same car for familiarity. Hughes Subaru had a loaded used 2022 Kia Forte GT that was perfect. I communicated with salesperson Kelly Wells and scheduled a time to come look at the car.
We arrived and were met by Kelly. We test-drove the car, and my mom approved. I made a fair offer; they made a fair counteroffer; we accepted, paid in full, and completed the paperwork in less than 30 minutes.
I have purchased so many cars in my lifetime, and this was the easiest and fastest I have ever experienced. I would definitely recommend this dealership and salesperson.”

“From start to finish, my experience with Hughes Subaru was exceptional. My Sales Advisor, Bryson, went above and beyond throughout the entire purchase. He helped me test drive a 2025 Subaru WRX Premium and then build and order a brand-new 2025 Subaru WRX GT with several upgrades. Subaru Japan delivered the car in about a month—impressively fast!
Bryson's attention to detail and communication were outstanding. He even noticed a few missing parts on the original purchase order, which he resolved right away. The replacement parts are now awaiting installation with the service department. It's rare to see that level of follow-through and professional care.
On delivery day, David, the Finance Manager, made the final steps just as smooth—he got me financed and driving home in my brand-new car the same day. Paperwork is tedious, but he kept the conversation and signatures moving and was very friendly the entire time.
I'm still waiting for a few remaining parts to arrive, but overall, this purchase has been one of the best dealership experiences. Bryson and David at Hughes Subaru truly deliver professionalism and genuine customer care. I recommend them to anyone looking for a Subaru or a great car-buying experience.”
