“Misleading Promises & Unprofessional Experience -- Very Disappointed I bought my car from Subaru Albany on Labor Day 2024. Even though I live in Fremont, I drove all the way there because they had the exact color I wanted. The car itself has no issues at all -- I absolutely love my choice. But the experience with the dealership was unforgettable for all the wrong reasons. During the purchase, the salesperson Ashur promised me a free scooter worth $500 as part of a promotional offer (Labor Day). It's been over a year, and I never received anything. I called many times, visited the dealership twice (a 1‑hour drive each way), and every time they repeated the same line: "You'll get it within the one‑year period." That year passed, and nothing ever came. When I went in person, the staff even asked me to show proof of the offer, but Ashur never provided any written confirmation. He avoided my calls, never followed up, and acted like the offer never existed. I've never seen such irresponsible customer handling. What makes it worse is that I wanted the scooter for my wife -- she doesn't drive, and I thought it would be a nice gift for her. She kept waiting for something that never arrived, and it was frustrating for both of us. On top of that, they added an extra service fee claiming it would reduce my APR, but I still don't understand how that helped me at all. I took time before posting this review because I kept hoping they would honor their promise. They didn't. I genuinely feel cheated, and I'm sharing this so others don't fall for promotional offers that the dealership has no intention of honoring. After this experience, I've decided not to trust any dealership in the USA when it comes to verbal offers -- everything must be in writing”

“I’ve been servicing my 2019 Subaru Forester at Serramonte Subaru since 2019. On Tuesday night, my check engine light — along with several other warning lights — suddenly came on. I called Albany Subaru Wednesday morning, and they were able to fit me in for an appointment the very next day. I dropped off my vehicle Thursday morning, and they provided me with a loaner, which meant a lot since my family relies on our one car for our daily routine. My service advisor, James M., walked me through the entire process and kept me informed every step of the way. He was extremely knowledgeable about the potential issues and followed through on his promise to have the vehicle ready by Friday afternoon. He patiently answered all of my (many) questions and truly went above and beyond any experience I’ve had before. While I’ve had good service at Serramonte Subaru over the years, Albany Subaru has set a new standard for me. From the pleasant woman who helped schedule my appointment, to my service advisor, the cashiers at the loaner window, and the associate at the parts counter — everyone was professional, kind, and deserving of high praise.
