Payment posting timeframes

before 3:00 p.m. ET, Monday-Saturday The same day

Online payments are not processed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, or New Year's Day. The availability of funds may be delayed at Capital One's sole discretion to ensure payment in good funds.
  • You may have one pending (not yet processed) payment per credit card at any given time. View your pending payments.
  • You may make one online payment per credit card account per day. For information about our payment posting timeframes, see our payment posting chart above.
  • If you do not pay the minimum amount due by your cycle date, you may be charged additional fees.
  • The highest payment you can make is your current balance plus 10% and you cannot enter a dollar amount higher than $50,000.
  • You can only make online payments for transactions that have posted to your account, not pending transactions. If you'd like to make a payment before a pending transaction posts, you'll need to make that payment by mail. Please visit the Customer Service page for payment addresses and instructions.
  • If you are paying your balance in full, your current balance includes interest only through your last statement closing date. It may not reflect additional interest charges that may have accrued on your account since that date.
