The SCRA provides benefits to members of the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and Coast Guard, certain members of the National Guard, commissioned officers of the Public Health Service, and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration engaged in active duty service.
What benefits are provided?
Capital One is committed to both the letter and spirit of the SCRA, including provision of benefits and protections above and beyond what is required under the SCRA in certain situations. Under Capital One's SCRA Program, benefits for eligible loans and credit products may include:
- A maximum interest rate of 4% on your loan or extension of credit during the period of SCRA enrollment for loans owned and serviced by Capital One (SCRA eligible loans owned by Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, or other private investors; or loans owned by Capital One but serviced by a third party, will receive a maximum interest rate of 6%)
- No fees assessed on your loan or credit product, except bona-fide insurance
How do I request benefits?
Requests for SCRA benefits may be submitted to Capital One in the following ways:
- A written request for benefits via mail
- Fax delivery
- In person delivery at a full-service branch location, or
- Online intake form (under certain circumstances)
For benefit requests by mail or fax, please use the address or fax number below:

When submitting benefit requests by mail or fax, please provide military documentation that provides the servicemember's active duty period(s). Requests for SCRA benefits must be made to Capital One within one year following the end of an active duty period. Also, please remember to provide enough account information to ensure that we can identify your loan or credit product. Only one request for benefits is needed for us to identify all accounts owned and serviced by Capital One.
If Capital One does not receive a copy of acceptable military documents, in conjunction with a request for benefits, we will check the Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC) website to determine eligibility. If we are unable to validate eligibility via the DMDC website or from other additional information received, we will send you a written request to obtain a copy of acceptable military documents.
SCRA Online Intake Form
Capital One understands that active duty servicemembers who are deployed often have unique communication challenges. To facilitate enrollment, Capital One has developed an online method of taking SCRA benefit requests from servicemembers for their Capital One accounts. This channel is available to servicemembers only. If you are not a servicemember, but believe you are due benefits, please use one of our other available channels to submit your request.
