In order to use the online banking features of Microsoft Money to access your Capital One bank accounts, you will first need to enroll in Online Banking. Once this is completed, you will want to set up your accounts in Money. Here's how you can get started:
  1. Sign On to Online Banking and follow the instruction for online enrollment. During enrollment you will establish a password. This password is what you will use in Money when asked for your password. After you establish your password you will be ready to access your accounts via your Money software.
  2. Start your Money program (Capital One supports the current version, plus the two prior versions). If this is the first time using Money, you may choose to use the Setup assistant and follow the steps to set up your accounts. If you already have a Money file established, or you wish to skip the setup assistant click Skip the Setup Assistant and Start using Money now, located at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Choose Online Services Manager from the Accounts & Bills drop down menu and choose click here to set up online services.
  4. Select the Click Here link to set up a new account. This will bring you to a box where you should type Capital One Bank as your financial institution. Upon clicking Next you will be asked to confirm the financial institution you entered.
  5. After confirmation, you will be guided through several screens that will gather information to set your account(s) up in Money. If you do not have your account number, or statement information, just click Next and you can provide that information at a later date. The last box will display a Finished button which you will click to proceed to the Online Services set up for your account(s).
  6. Choose Set Up Online Services next to Capital One Bank, then verify Capital One Bank once again from the list displayed and click next.
  7. Then you will be prompted to enter your User ID and PIN to connect to Capital One, please enter the User ID and Password you use on our Online Banking website.
  8. Money will detect all of your Capital One bank accounts and give you the options to add whichever of these accounts you wish to your file. Choose Next and you will be brought to a page that lists each of your accounts and a description of your online services for each, click Done.

You can now connect to Capital One by accessing Go to Banks and Brokers from the left navigation, choose Capital One Bank, then choose Connect to Online Services. Notice that there are several options under this Use Online Services section, such as options to send messages, payments, and transfers to Capital One.
