We seek out, identify and encourage ethnic minority- and women-owned businesses to compete for our commodities and services across Capital One. The goal of our program is to include diverse suppliers, known as M/WBEs (minority/women business enterprises), in every sourcing opportunity wherever available M/WBEs exist. To date, dozens of minority- and women-owned suppliers have benefited from the program. In addition, our Supplier Diversity program has received national recognition for our inclusion of M/WBEs in our supply chain and procurement operations.

| I believe that working with a diverse supplier base provides Capital One with several benefits, including increasing our options when purchasing products and capabilities in a competitive marketplace. We also benefit from aligning our associate population with a vendor base that more closely aligns with our customers, enhancing our ability to understand our customers so we can better meet their needs. Supplier diversity also helps strengthen the communities in which Capital One operates, which is a growing footprint across the United States as we expand our retail banking presence.
